Moto Coaster for Särkänniemi in 2010

Postby Tömmioh » Fri Nov 13, 2009 2:21 am

Särkänniemi is getting a "Moto Coaster" to replace the old Vekoma Corkscrew for next season. In the newsarticle below, they say that there aren't any smiliar "Moto coasters" in Europe yet. The trains are like the one in the picture.

I think the park have made a very good move with this. One thing I felt that was missing from the park was a some kind of high capacity family ride, especially a in terms of the coasters of the park. Korkkiruuvi was really starting to show its age terms of both roughness and appearance.

Thanks for the update Tommi!

The google translation (quoted below) makes it seem like the park announced this. Tommi, is this the case?

Traditional cork screw unloaded off and replaced with something completely new.

Särkänniemi the park next summer attraction in Tampere is a huge new roller coaster, which runs the engine on wheels. The same is not yet anywhere else in Europe.

Moto-Coaster roller coaster ride driven two side by side, and six in a row.

- There is a feeling of freedom when the motorcycle sits in the back torso free. Can see what track goes, and tilt to the right as a motorcycle, the Director Risto Rinne Särkänniemi Adventure Park says.

I know quite a lot about Donkeys!

Well, at least it's launched, although a family coaster. I'm sad about the loss of Korkkiruuvi, I thought it was a nice ride :?r Looking forward for the renderings about the surroundings and the exact location.
