PKI Jizz Man's Diamondback Photo Thread!

Postby PKI Jizzman » Sun Apr 19, 2009 1:34 pm

Hey doods.

So Kings Island got this new ride, Diamondback. It's pretty awesome. It looks very pretty, the lines move quickly...even with a two train op. Diamondback has lots of airtime, and a very...very steep drop that might rival Millennium Force.

Does it live up to the hype and expectations of a custom B&M hyper? YES.
Does it excede the hype and expectations? ...maybe.

I got about 10 rides, front seat...back seat, and everything in between.
It's a front seat ride. But the backseat is pretty darn good, too.

Any negatives? While most people talk about the trims, I'll throw something else in there.
-Trim and MCBR do suck, but they don't take much away.
-To me, especially when comparing to Goliath SFOG...the helix and the hammerhead seem weak. Goliath, I was PLASTERED into my seat...but Diamondback just kind of twirls you around. Fun? Sure. Outstanding element? Eh.

I think it's a top 10 ride, I'd put Maverick over it, but I'm not ready to say anything else! It's a fantastic ride that Kings Island has been in need for. There's B&M floater air and surprise!!! OMFG!!! I'm going to fall out of my seat!!!!! air!

Onto the photos! I know they kind of suck....it was raining half the time. Yes....Diamondback + Rain = Ouch.

One other cool thing was that I saw a guy wearing a B&M hat...so I thought, "Where else could you get a B&M hat..besides B&M!" So I walked up to the guy and asked if he was from B&M, and he was. I told him it was cool to meet him and great job on a fantastic coaster!

I'll be updating pictures throughout tonight!

This is a GREAT ride! I rode it around 30 times during the media preview on Friday and it was just what KI needed. And JZ is right, it's definitely a front seat coaster! Much more airtime there.
Life is short..ENJOY the RIDE!!!!!!!

I'm so jealous, I wished I lived closer! Looks like you had a great time. I loved the photos.
The closeup photos of the train are my favorite, I love the front car with the fangs/eyes. So cool.

The pictures aren't fuzzy...it's the rain you're seeing  I'm sorry these look so bad!

Rain or no rain, it's awesome!
dsc2239e.jpg
Up into the second hill.
dsc2240l.jpg
You really feel the speed coming out of the ravine.

Maybe not so pretty... :P
dsc2254.jpg
Here's what happens after the second hill...and until the airtime hills.
dsc2260.jpg
This part is all sorts of amazingness. Twisty forces, airtime pop, then drop into the ravine.
dsc2262.jpg
I think....I THINK...Fry took a shot similar to this up at Behemoth. I'm not sure if it was him though, but thanks for the inspiration!
dsc2267.jpg
Mr. Redriderhood is NOT happy.
rsz_dsc_2273.jpg

Looks incredible, can't wait to head out there sometime this summer. Friend of mine went yesterday and said he was in a four-hour line for it... I still need to get his opinion on it, but from the looks of it, I'm sure it was worth it.

Yummy! I just ate donkey!

Great pics! Sorry your day was a rainy one. I was there on FRI and the skies were perfect BLUE but the three trains went out half empty most of the time. On SAT, the trains were full but the sky was ... COLORLESS. ?r

Here's one my fav pics from beneath the first drop. This guy seems to be enjoying himself. =) :
