Team Thriller
Hey hey all, I gathered a bunch of friends and decided to take a trip to Europa Park to ride the new Blue Fire. This is part 1 which is the house party the night before. Part 2 will include the actual trip to the park, and many pictures of Blue Fire! So enjoy. Next update will be posted tomorrow and will have much more to read about. --James We will be leaving at 5 to go pick up my girl friend and then its a 3 hour drive to Europa Park! Till tomorrow. Where the actual photo TR begins! Of course one of three pizzas we got. All thats left of the food... This is what my room looked like after the party. We kinda had a clothes fight like little children. ....A dangerous act of riding a ten year old skate board at 20 mph down a super steep hill in the middle of the night! A group shot of our nature walk that of course became.... This is beastly! Random cat This random dog came out of nowhere and started attacking the bike. We called him Fifi. Here is the only normal picture. I kinda like it. Night shot in Germany OMFG! POV! This is a very intresting picture. Here is Frankie... um... riding... Here we are doing things amazingly dangerous to make the time fly by. And here is the full actual Thriller Moble! You are allowed to use this as your desktop background... Here is Germany for those who doesn't know what it looks like. Getting the engine ready for the trip. This is indead, the actual Thriller Moble. Why? Cause you can drive on the autobahn at super high speeds! Here are all the shirts I'm getting ready for the trip... Here are all the things for our mini house party. Excluding the cheesy pizza! Team Thriller
Here we are at Europa Park. I'm not going to type much except a review for Blue Fire and a few random notes... The day wasn't too crowded, but wasn't not crowded. I ran into Steven from RCPro and hung with him that day. Here is the review: Blue Fire 10/10 - Seriously, this coaster was WAY better I expected. It is easily the best coaster in the park and in my opinion gives Ge Force a run for its money for 'best marathon coaster'. The ride is super smooth, and the elements are very intense. The launch isn't to powerful, but very fun and lasts a good time. One thing that makes this coaster so good is the trains. You are totally open and the seats are so comfortable you can sleep in them. I've never felt so open on a coaster before. Like I said. The ride is very unique. Even though it doesn't look like it, it is. This is on my top five coasters! So I'm not going to write so much cause I'll add some descriptions on the photo's... I'll end it with a group shot! From left to right top: Steven, Daniel, Kelley, Perry, Frankie. Now time for the bottom: Me, and then Jessica. Thanks for reading and come out and ride this thing! It is awesome! Ciao! This picture is random, but it shows how awesome the theming is! The area around the ride. Not really finished, but very nice enough! ...And onto the final brake run. Then you scream around this turn... Then the zero gravity roll! This is a very hidden element. But easily the best part of the ride! The next element reminds me of Sex Ed.... Here is the second one from another view... Here is the second one! The next two awesome elements! Going out of the brakes into.... To the midcourse brake run! After the vertical loop, you go into this very intense curve... The vertical loop! Coming down off whatever the hell that is, you go directly into... Whatever the hell that is THROUGH THE ROCKS Then up onto... whatever the hell this is. Overbanked curve? Here is the layout... First there is the awesome launch Right before boarding In line for the ride. I look stupid, my girl friend looks happy, and yes, I'm out of captions again. Time for the moment you've been waiting for. Blue Fire pictures! Daniel on the bumper cars. He is having fun. And yes, I'm outa captions. ...To break some plates of course! Time for Steven to play with some balls This is what you look like after a wall of water hits you... REALLY owned. She was in the last picture. You just cannot see her cause she is in the waterwall. OWNED! no comment needed. (This is not my onride photo BTW) Alpen Express is actually better this year than last year. Much faster and smoother. First time I've seen this newer ride in person. weeeeeeee um... um.. weeeeeee The oh sh!t moment of the last drop. Right about here is when you realize you are about to get wet... THEMING! The station Great view of Blue Fire from the queue of Poseidon. Just a dude with female parts... I think Atlas is a dude? Splash! THEMING! You enter by going under the big horses ass... Time for Poseidon Do these count as dozen eggs? A really creepy picture of Daniel Lunch shot! ^ ^ ^ ^ Skyline shots... The park really does have so much detail But even so, its still beter than Spaceship Earth. (Sorry Epcot Fanboys) Time for Eurosat. Sadly, this coaster was running way worse then it has been. It was very brutal... or at least more so. These shirts were EVERYWHERE today! Enough of the crepes... for now.. back to some Silver Star! And Europa Park makes the best Crepes in the world! Crepes! After Silver Star. We had to do the best thing in the park.... The coaster is still the tallest in Europe! But of course I have to make a scene of attention and stupidity before we enter the queue Time for Silver Star Weeeeeeeeeeee um.. weeeeeeee That is one twisted track The park is very well landscaped Offical group photo! This is probably the freakest picture ever. Here is the slow moving part that gives you a great view of glass.... If you aren't confused by now. You either are A.) A ninja B.) Can see in slow motion or C.) Rode it so many times that your brain is falling apart... The ride was running up at its normal standers. Time for probably the most unique coaster in Europe (With the exeption of Winjas) Here is more of an overview of the attraction. It is a great water ride! We actually didn't ride this today. We'll come back to Blue Fire later. First we got to hit all the rides before the lines get long! First time you ride, it is worth sitting in the front row! Plain, but simple. Blue Fire has opened! This is the moment exactly between the ride beging closed and the ride opening to the public... The man who is going to cut the ribbon... But first a duel of vikings. This day just gets better and better! The moment has arrived for the offical opening of Blue Fire. These guys where cool I've been spotted AGHHH! This things came outa nowhere. He looks extremely dangerous, probably on the wanted list, and blood thirsty for killing... A group of the most important people at Europa Park. There they are holding the balloons. Random horse with booze. I love this park.... Group Shot number 2 It looks really on the slower side. But oh my god! Its not during the ride... Of course we didn't skip it! We were there for the grand opening. Oh well. Lets skip it and go to Alantica Supersplash Whats that I see picking out over the horizion? We met with Steve! Thanks for hanging with us! Group Shot number 1 The german alley still looked as welcoming as always! The entrance to Europa Park is still my favorite in the world. There is Silver Star in the morning sun. What a sight! The day starts with a walkthrough through a drive through

Team Thriller
Thanks everyone for the replies! ^ That is a good point. Just half our group are underage. (The drinking age being 16). alexinla
I was just kidding, I grew up in germany, dont think i ever got carded for beer. I remember when i had to go to the supermarket to get groceries, including beer for my dad(cough), i was maybe 10, it was perfectly ok to get a 6pack. Well, next year I am expecting a different party for the europapark opening and of course that will come with a lot of crazier stunts on the skateboard(maybe a hospital visit, lol), random dogs and cats kidnapped and put on coasters and of course the the hungover pictures with all the prostitutes

Team Thriller
^^ The trims seemed to only be a little harder on the MCBR. Other than that, you couldn't feel them at all, or they had almost no effect. After the MCBR, The ride seemed to gain it's speed back. So overall, the ride is still as good as it always has been. Plus, Silver Star updated their trains. They look brand new! So the ride looks better also. --James
alpengeist04
Nice job on the TR, thanks. Blue Fire definitely looks like a winner.

Team Thriller
Here is George T review on the ride. I think everyone should read it because it truly shows the awesomeness of the ride in great detail. Great review George! --James So, here`s my opinion about Blue Fire after riding it tree times at the opening day... First of all I`d like to say, that this coaster is a beauty...the combination of the huge and very realistic looking rocks and the shining blue track is really great...especially when the sun shines...it really looks great. And in reality it looks MUCH better than on the pics, I think ! When I watched the first few rides, I was making jokes about the speed, because it looked sooooo slow, that it was already a littlebit funny. But I watched several rides while I waited in the queue, and I noticed, that the ride became faster by the time... AND I noticed that the riders were screaming nearly all the time during the ride. I never noticed that on a coaster the WHOLE ride long...but because it was still looking a littlebit slow, I didn`t understand! Later I did... After nearly one and a half hours I was able to take place in the front row... and my first impression of the seat was : Perfect ! The first seat, that felt better to me than the B&M seats...totally open, but safe and comfortable at the same time...definitely the new standard (in my opinion). Well, there`s not much say about the darkride part...we went through it very fast...too fast, I think, just a little time to look at the scenery...and then, a lot of fog spread...the door opend and the launch starts... The acceleration part is not too intense...but very long...I enjoyed it very much...it`s not "hard" but really fun... And I have to say that the first hill, that "top-hat-thingy" is better than it looks...not thrilling, but fun and intense... The first tunnel gives a very strong headchopper-effect, it really takes some courage to keep the hands up...and because it`s to tight, the 110 km/h (thats the maximum speed) feel VERY fast ! The loop is quite big so it takes some time to ride througt it with just a littlebit of positive G`s at the top...I like that very much. The overbanked curve after the loop feels very intense (someone in a german forum said "you`re THROWN in it)". I think that`s a good expression for it, and that element really IS thrilling ! When reaching the top of the second hill you get a littlebit of airtime in the front and the back...and the trims slow down the train just a littlebit (luckily). Then, there`s some airtime again (especially in the back) when you go down... You`re riding through another huge rock before you ride through the double horsehshoe roll...and because of the "canyon" and the rocks this element is just amazing...it`s sooo much fun...and I think Maverick cannot compare with that, because the great theming adds so much to it. It`s marvellous... The Hump trough the loop has some nice airtime (especially when the train is "warmed up"). And the last element is the best one, I think. The heartlineroll should be called "thrown-out-roll" ! Especially with the hands up and because of not having over the shoulder restraints this element is just freaking amazing, you`ll have a very intenese out of control-feeling ! The best at the end...why not ? All together i have to say that blue fire exeeded my expectations by far...and as far as I know EVERYONE said that after riding it ! EVERYONE ! The ride feels very fast, is unbelievably smooth and has a nice mixture of fun and thrill elements. The seats are great, the restraints are great, and because of the rocks and the tunnels EVERY meter of the track is a lot of fun. Really. And I`m shure, that a lot of TPR`s will LOVE (!) this ride. But I think it`s important to know that this coaster gets faster during the day. I mean A LOT FASTER ! It`s very good from the beginning...but when it`s warm, it`s just amazing ! I hope you enjoyed reading my little rewiew...and I really can`t wait to read yours ! Have a good time... GeorgeT

Philrad71
Simply awesome...okay, now I am DEFINITELY going to this park when I go to Germany in the fall - I don't care if I have to hitch-hike from Munich/Oktoberfest!

GeorgeT
I would just like to add, that the speed during the darkride-part will probably not be the final one. Some people think, that the two missing trains (at the moment they operate with three ones) are the reason for the fast passage. So it seems as if it they`re gonna drive slower through it later to operate with 5 trains at the same time... GeorgeT
Steve K
Hey man, great PTR. It was nice to meet all of you at the park and hang out with yall. We had some good laughs...can we say splash zone? woot! As was already mentioned, the trims on Silver Star were noticable and that did slow the trains on the hills quite a bit. I would have to say the trims are the worst part of the ride and the ride experience would improve drasticly if the two trims were turned off. Although, on Sunday the first trim wasn't very strong so it was nice. The new train 'hood' and wheel covers are shiny-er and have a streak of red to them now. Looks much better than the original silver/grey/black. Euro Sat was running rough both Saturday and Sunday however was running a little 'off' on Sunday. The MCBR was extremely forceful by the end of the day on Sunday which I had never experienced before so it was obvious something wasn't quite right. Oh and the legendary braking 'feature' leading into the station was as fantasticly excrutiating as always...lol. Euro Mir was running great both days, nothing too notable to mention except that as always, the lift hill with the theme song playing is still the best part of the ride! Now onto the main feature, Blue Fire. As he said, the ride is absolutely phenominal and deserves the 10/10 that he gave it. It is by far the smoothest, quietest, and yet still thrilling attraction I have ever been on. Although the launch as as fast or as forcefull as others out there, it gets the job done nicely and allows it to be more 'family friendly' I guess you could say. But with the mixture of elements that the ride possesses, it is sure to please every thrill ride fanatic. All of the element transitions were perfect and at some points, including the barrel-roll, provided some great negative-g's. Front row is by far the best seat in the house and allows great views of the interaction between the track and the rock formations. The trains themselves I found to be very comfortable and don't feel restricting at all. One unique feature is also the added 'Pulse Monitor' that they built into the handles of the restrains. I'm not quite sure if they're real/accurate, but apparently when my hands are in the air it still says I have a pulse of 50-80 and then flatlining...lol. So, Blue Fire is intense enough to kill you...lol. A few random note on Blue Fire...The video/photo system is not yet operational, however I was told by staff that it would be up within the next week. All the equipment is on site, they just need to install it into the photo building. Now the part that intrigued me was the Blue Fire store. Visitors that go into to grab the latest t-shirts, hat's, and other Blue Fire gear will be dissapointed. At this time there are about 4 types of hats (granted they look great), but only one type of t-shirt with a plain design featuring only the logo. Now the reason for this is the interesting part, according to staff members as well as one of the park managers, the reason for this is because the name 'Blue Fire' was not actually selected as the official name until about a week and a half ago. We all knew Blue Fire as the project name, but the fact that it wasn't set to be the final name has me thinking what other options they were concidering. Although Saturday was great, I have to say Sunday was the best day, save for the weather. About 30 members of TowersTimes came to the park for the weekend and they managed to scrounge up some ERT on Silver Star before the park opened...we got about 4 rides in due to all three trains being on the track and having to cycle. At the end of the day we were on our way to Blue Fire for the last ride, when we happened to run into Roland Mack (minus the mustache). Had a nice little conversation with him, got a group photo, and were invited for a quick ERT session on Blue Fire after the park closed. We ended up with only 3 rides of ERT, but still it was amazing and I'd like to thank Roland for hooking us up. All in all, Europa Park is set for an amazing season and Mack has hit a home run when it comes to Blue Fire. I would not be surprised if we start season more of these coasters from Mack popping up around the world as an alternative to Intamin launchers. Good job Roland and all of the Mack/Europa Park staff! Team Thriller
^ I find it funny how we both said he would never shave his mustache because it's how people reconize him as. Team Thriller
I'll write a Blue Fire Vrs. Ge Force later. Since I already did but my computer frooze and I'm too lazy to write another one. So here are the pictures. --James No TR is complete without this picture. Part 2 coming soon. Airtime Airtime Airtime (Is this caption getting annoying yet. I'm sorry if it is but that is all I can think of during the ride) Did I mention that this is the best drop in the world Airtime (This is my favorite picture of the trip) OOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM ZZZOOOOOOOOOOOOO Airtime Airtime Airtime Awww no love for that train today Airtime Airtime NERD SHOT! If you want the best drop in the world, fill these seats (Mainly the left side) Looking up the trains skirt airtime (This caption will never get boring) Airtime That is one sexy overbanked curve! Airtime after airtime after airtime. You will never believe the amount of airtime this thing gives. Here will be tons of random shots of Ge Force, just cause the world can never have enough! Here is a close up of the insane first drop. Yes, its that f*cking steep! This shows just how steep and twisted the first drop is! Best first drop on earth! I do feel bad for all the other rides. Sure the park is nice, but if it wasn't for Ge Force, the park would be worse than Walibi Belgium The ride is pretty massive and majestical The first thing you see of Ge Force Welcome The skyline... Its not too much but it includes Ge Force, so it's amazing in my book. Only a few more minutes....
