Coastinmiller Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 After another successful Adirondack Open Shufflebaord tournament, I departed for an Eastern Canadian Amusement park tour, by myself. La Ronde, Mega Parc and Upper Clements were the parks of choice. Crystal Palace and Sandspit were thrown out due to time constraints La Ronde (Sunday 9/2) good thing I got here early, b/c it got slammed. Goliath was good, but I thouhgt it had a wicked shimmy. Anyone else notice this?? Had some good air. Got in 2 decent rides, before hitting the road again for the 3 hr ride to Quebec City for Mega Parc. Mega Parc (Sunday 9/3) Nice small indoor amusement park in the mall. Capital Express was a decent family coaster with a long tunnel as a first drop. Didn't stay very long esp with the long drive ahead. Upper Clements (Monday 9/4) After a greuling 12 hr drive from Quebec City to Digby, NS, I manage to hit the park a little after opening. What a plesant small park. Complete with an animal park next to it. Tree Topper was a decent wood coaster with some great pops of air time, but a little rough. Now for the pics. Mall park time. capital Express Even Canadians rubberneck!!! Dinner is served. Spent the night at this welcome center, but still a 3 hr ride to the park. Representing in Nova Scotia. Finally made it. Bay of Fundi next door. Tractor over to the animal park Small pond in the middle of the park Tree Topper My Mazada tribute crammed into the ferry. Representing on the ferry home
Coastinmiller Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 I posted them backwards, I know, I like to be different.
Canobie Fan Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 lol I went to UCs over 10 years ago.. yet it doesnt look like they added anything! And yeah Megaparc is cool. I went last winter and had fun.. But didnt get to skate as the ice rink was closed
Coastinmiller Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 I didn't have time to skate at mega. You know it's funny you replied to this post as I was thinking of you and your Canobie as I was passing it today in all the fraking rush hour traffic all the way down 495 to 290 west.
Canadmos Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Do you have any more pictures of Upper Clements woodie?
WildStangAlex Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 As fun as Goliath looks, it seems to have extremely boring elements. Bunny hills and a turnaround. That's it?
Airtime&Gravity Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 ^that's it, but aren't most out-and-back coasters like that? Nice tr and photos, and it was nice to see two of Canada's relatively unknown parks. Upper Clements looks like a nice little park, and it looks like a park that any town could benefit from. While a small park,(well not for the area it is in) there seems to be enough to do to spend a few hours having fun.
WildStangAlex Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 ^ You are very right. Still looks awesome tho
shesaidboom Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I'm so glad you posted pictures of Tree Topper at Upper Clements! I rode it when I was 10 or 11 and couldn't remember anything about it. All I remember was everything in the park was spaced far apart and there was a lot of walking..kind of like at Marineland. I've been trying to find pictures of Tree Topper for a while, but only found two on rcdb. Thanks for posting this!
Coastinmiller Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 Do you have any more pictures of Upper Clements woodie? No that's all I have, there really isn't too much to it. Didn't anyone else notice the bad shimmy on Goliath though???

Pretty much the same, everything is still well spaced out, but what a great little park for the area. It's just ashmed it's well out of the way to get to.
