Whatever it is, I;m sure it will be pretty good, because it certainly sounds like it. Maybe it will be a B&M dive coaster, but be the first one with a more than 90 degree drop.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like dive machines are more of a gimmick than a brilliant coaster idea. Sure, they're fun the first time, but I think - similar to rides like TTD and KK - they focus way too much on one element and the rest of the ride (or lack there of, since these coasters are some of the shortest out there) greatly suffers.

Unless they add on a LOT more to the dive machine concept and make an attempt for a better all-around coaster, I will be a bit disappointed if it's just another dive machine. I mean, we've already got two on the east coast, and I don't think 5 degrees beyond vertical is a big enough improvement when the ride lacks, IMHO, length, variety, and rerideability (sp? Is that even a word?).

Rerideability.. Hmm.. I think its a word! At least in our world.

I havent been on Griffon yet, but I agree think that Sheikra, which I think is a decent ride, is missing something that makes it a "WOW" ride. I dont know if that's length or lack or elements or what...

I dont think that this is going to be the huge breakthrough ride that everyone thinks it will be. Here's a quote from an interview with the CEO of Hersheypark/HERCO:

"We don't want to take it to the point where we're trying to be the tallest, fastest, the extreme edge of the way some parks have gone. We've always been about families, and so building a 200-foot roller coaster that is a plunge roller coaster would not be something that we would want to consider"

Of course he could be telling us what is next right there too?!

An Intamin Dive Machine would be interesting, and has a ton of potential if they do it right. If it is one, I am curious to see whta the trains would look like. I still wouldn't mind a Maverick-esque coaster or a Eurofighter, though.

Just got back from the park today, The Western Chute Out was closed and looked to be in the process of removal. The slides were still intact but the wood supports on the midway side were missing. The orange markings seem to go behind the virtual theater and behind Rodeo (by the train tracks. After that, the trail seems to cross the path over by CRR and follows back next to park avenue. I couldnt follow it from there on. There was also markings in front of the catering pavillions (tidal Force & Canyon River) and all over the WCO complex. It's gonna be a nice size ride, whatever it is.

^Intamin can make-sized ride. They can also make verticle drops. I wonder if they'd make a verticle drop coaster?......

I'm sure they would. That's the beauty of Intamin....

Random Amusement Park: "We need a roller coaster that's 700 feet high and made of chocolate."

Intamin: "Sure, no problem. What kind of chocolate?"

Hmmm.. maybe the lift and drop will be on the side of the park where the water slides are and then some turns and hills will be over CRR's, maybe even have some interactive water parts there too.

Maybe they can make the DM do loops, zero-g-rolls, and cobra rolls. That'd be really cool.

Here's an idea, a stand-up floorless dive machine! :) lol
