Bush985 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Last night Sarah and I had the chance to hit up Fright Fest again, for the second time, being a monster. I did it by myself last time we went, and Sarah just followed us around, but this time she wanted to do it, so it was on. We got to the park early, and went in to check out the animals, as Sarah had never been to that area before. We also scoped out some good scare spots for our Fright Fest time. About 4:00 we met up with Al, SFMW's Public Relations, and headed back to meet up with some of the other people participating in the nights event. Al next took us to go get some dinner back at Papa Johns. Then we headed over to check out the funeral procession at 5PM. After the funeral procession it was back off to the makeup area. We spent about an hour waiting our turn to get our monsters looks. It was a pretty fun hour though, as we were able to watch some of the scare zone monsters and Brutal Planet monsters get their makeup done. Finally it was our turn. Sarah went first, and I was next. The makeup didn't take long, mine was a basic airbrush, with some fake latex/gelatin blood on top. SHe had to make it by melting some gelatin in a cup, and applied it to my face. It was time to head out into the night. The purpose of the coaster ghouls is to fill in empty seats on the trains and have guests look over and see a ghoul sitting next to them. I decided to step up my costume this time and made some metal tip gloves, which proved to be an amazing scare tactic at the end of the night. Loud Noise = Screaming Girls... We hit all the major coasters in the park, and spent the rest of the time running around scaring people. The best part of this event, is you have free reign of the park. Your not only stuck to one scare zone... We hung out in Medusa Plaza, Roar Plaza, The Entrance Plaza. It was awesome. Its fun to send a full grown adult running and screaming by a simple scare. Needless to say, enough of me rambling... Onto the pictures. Zombie Zone.. Yep it's SFMW's Fright Fest 06' Mmm.. Fog... The funeral procession begins Not a ton of monsters, but probably about 20 or 30. Ahh... The ghouls bring out the hearse... A girl in the back of course. Another shot. A tribute to the Old School Marine World, Pre Six Flags. Time to await our transformation. Sarah ready to be transformed in costume. Sarah was up first in the makeup chair. My finished airbrush job. Time for some blood. The blood was probably about 110 degrees fresh outta the microwave, burning the hell out of my face. Painful... Yes My finished look. In true Vallejo fashion, one of our other coaster ghouls in a "drive by shooting." Sarah and I ready to go out into the park... But I get hungry first... Do I have dangler? A final picture from the night. Us hanging out in the Medusa station waiting for a few rides. This is what I looked like last time I did Fright Fest on 9/30 Needless to say we had a great time. Six Flags Marine World was awesome for letting us do this. I can't wait to possibly do this one more time. A big thanks to the Public Relations team including Al Garcia for all their help and a great event, and ACE for setting the event up. Also thanks to Sarah for letting me drag you out to this.. -RD

Coaster Palooza Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Nice TR Ryan. I wish I would have seen this sooner and I would have just piggybacked on it with my TR.
niiicolaaah Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Nice! I would love to get all that makeup stuff done. What is the fake blood made of?
Bush985 Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 It was strange, it was Gelatin/Latex/Cheap Wal Mart Blood It look Coagulated, and was also edible, tasted like Cherries. It thickened up and still looked fresh, and pealed right off. I'll ask if I end up going again on Friday. Yea, Rick, the topic kind of was buried off a few days stuff. -RD
