coasterdude5 Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I just got back from Magic Springs, and I can say it was alot better than I thought it would be! The lines were short, the ops were cool, and the rides were pretty good. X-Coaster - 7/10 I heard Robb and Elissa didn't like the one on at Drayton Manor, but this was great! Short, yeah, but it's no different than V2(Just a bit longer). IMO, seeing the Ozarks upside down for an extended amount of time was priceless! And the speed was great, too. Gauntlet - 4/10 Ouch, this was my first SLC, and it was pretty painful, not as bad as Iron Wolf at SfGam, but still pretty rough. But all the elements were good so that made up for it. Big Bad John - 6/10 Hey, any ride with my name in it is already cool. And the fact that it used to be at Dollywood was cool, too. I lost my hat on it but it was cheap so that's no big deal. I think this was my first coaster to have all to myself (and my dad). The back was better, though. Arkansas Twister - 7/10 This was a pretty good ride, not near as good as American Eagle, but still a great ride, and the final few hills provided some great air-time. Twist-n-Shout - 3/10 Pointless-n-Painful Pictures: Hey, we're here. X-Coaster, and no line. "Please refrain from riding if you have...." "frequent headaches, high blood pressure...." "pregnant, may become pregnant (not really) OR" "an amputated leg or other impairments" The only coaster I didn't ride. Gauntlet and Summit Plummet, or Plummet Summit, whatever it is, "the ride that makes a big splash" "Hey, my shoes are dry!" Mmmmm.... Vekoma Cool shot. Haha, they're in pain! About the only picture you can get of this ride. More X-Coaster! Yeah..... Haha... cool cars. Pictures really don't do this park justice(neither does the park map), it's a pretty cool park. Hey, thanks for reading my trip report, go to Magic Springs, it's a cool place.
methylene Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Looks a lot better on a weekday! We'll be giving it a second chance next Summer on our way to Dollywood. Glad to hear X-coaster is a good ride. Matt
okinawaboy11 Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 ^ Same, I thought it had a new train design to "Make a more comfortable Ride." Atleast, thats what RCDB says. I bet they made no space inbetween the track and the wheels .
pvcoasterguy Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Nice TR. Glad to see that this X-Coaster has a good review. Seems like an interesting ride, that's for sure.

I bet they made no space inbetween the track and the wheels . I'd honestly like to ride an SLC made with Vekoma's new outside-guide wheel track. I'm of the opinion that virtually all inside-guide wheel is rough while outside-guide wheel is smooth (Although Morgans come close to invalidating this hypothesis). Matt
coaster1 Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Nope, Gauntlet was made in 2000 for Jazzland/SFNO .. there is NOTHING new about any of the trains. Same crappy models with same huge gaps and painful ride ... there's nothing different from what I can tell from the 10+ SLCs I've been on.
coasterdude5 Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 ^Yeah, that one was my first one so I could'nt have told a difference.
Capitalize Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 wow looks like a nice park. When I heard they were getting X-Coaster I was pretty intrigued and really wanted to try to get out there. Arkansas Twister from what I've seen looks like a pretty nice woodie.
coaster1 Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Arkansas Twister is running about as good as I've ever seen it since I started visiting the park in 2001 .. it's very well maintained by GCII in the off-season and they are keep the track oiled well. They still do need to either pressure wash it or paint it .. since the old pink paint is starting to show more and more.
