ParkTrips
LA MARQUE — When Eric Gage heard of Six Flags’ plans to close Astroworld, he couldn’t keep an image out of his mind. “Can you imagine the Texas Cyclone along FM 1764?” La Marque’s economic development director asked. “My initial thought was, ‘Hmm, I wonder how I could bring Astroworld to La Marque?’” {cut} But Gage thinks Houston’s loss could be La Marque’s gain. “Sure, it is a little far-fetched idea, but La Marque is a great community to have an amusement park,” he said. “I think every aggressive economic developer in the Houston area thought the same thing. This would bring additional tourist traffic to Galveston County and La Marque. With it would come hotels, additional retail stores and restaurants.” Original article Contact Mr. Gage

Erik Johnson
That would make sense since Galveston is a Hurricane/Cyclone magnet.
