CoasterCrazy Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Apple announced a new iPod today! I will be getting the 30 gig for christmas! I want to know why the 60 gig iPod has a longer battery life than the 30 gig? :? http://www.apple.com/ipod/ipod.html
jackskellington101 Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 So they announced the video iPod. Hmm. Very interesting. That seems to be a really stupid move, business wise, for Apple to do. They just undercut the Nano sales. It's too close an announcement. With a video iPod, who's going to buy the Nano now? Stuart "I'll keep my 60GB iPod Photo, thanks" Newsom
Wes Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 ^ It won't undercut Nano sales because there are two distinct markets they're catering to. The nano is still the better choice for people who exercise or who prefer a very small player. The iPod with video will go after the segment of people who bought the regular sized iPods in the past (those with large music collections, or people who want video). If anything, keeping the iPod's without video would have hurt sales of the old iPod more, since the Nano could do everything the old iPods could do, at a cheaper price. That being said, the video feature is cool, but I'm not going to buy a new iPod just for that. I felt the same way about the photo feature, until they added the USB camera attachment. I think the more exciting news is the offering of current TV shows in the store for two bucks. I hope this catches on quick and the major networks hop on. If they let me download episodes of shows I like, I'd be way more inclined to spring for the new iPod.
CoasterFanatic Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I like the whole idea of being able to take your TV shows with you, but are you gonna have to pay for them? Seems a little silly, when you can get them over the air for free. I will have to download the new iTunes when I get home.
DeliriumTrigger Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 ^iTunes is gonna be selling ABC episodes for $1.99 per episode.
Homer Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 ^I hope FOX comes in the near future on iTunes. -Carl "Really wants to download Family Guy eps LEGALLY" F.
DATman Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I pray that it plays movies then I will buy it so fast it will make you say WHA?
jackskellington101 Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I don't know, I still think I'll stand by my iPod Photo. I'll need to look into this more though. Possably I could put all my downloaded TPR files on it. That's a good selling point actually... Stuart "New shade of brown nose" Newsom
