Well, I would like to start out by saying that this is my first real RCT3 park, meaning that it will be the first time that I don't just throw in crazy coasters and fill in the empty spaces with flats. I'm going to try hard to theme the park well and make it a really beautiful, realistic park. With that said, I would like to forewarn you that I have no extra scenery packs installed all my computer besides the SteelWorx for custom supports, which I have never used. So this will be a learning experience for me.

Also, I would like to thank coasterdude5 for inspiring me to reinstall RCT3 after many years of sitting on the shelves. I almost decided not to post the process of this park, for I know that I will never be able to stand up against his skills.

So as I build up this park, I request that you leave me comments and suggestion, so eventually I might come out with a great product!

Here we go.........

Hello, I am a resident of Greenwood, IN, a somewhat small city about 15 miles from Indianapolis. I work in Indianapolis as a head entertainment adviser for AcBhar Inc. In other words, nothing with a recreational purpose is going to be built in the city without going through me. Last summer, July 16, 1993, I was introduced to a proposal in which Mark Campbell, son of the man who introduced Electric Park to our company 11 years ago (sadly the plans fell through), requested permission to open a 135 acre amusement park in Greenwood. He was willing to put forward 13 million dollars for the first year. I skimmed over the plans, which included 3 roller coasters, and almost a dozen other rides. It was not stated if the park would be themed or traditional, or if any live entertainment and restaurants were in the works.

Though the idea sounded fun, I was already working on other projects, so I pushed this aside.

3 months later, I was sent a better-planned out proposal. Here is what it read:

All over the world, amusement parks are currently coming up with new roller coasters, and pushing technology to the next level. Sadly, our region cannot take part in these advancements, because Indianapolis does not have a park. It has always been my family's dream to change that.

In 1983, my father, Richard B. Campbell, introduced the idea of an amusement park labeled Electric Park to Indianapolis, sadly the plans fell through when it was discovered that the 50 acres he had planned to place the attraction upon contained unstable soil, and was not safe to build on.

Today, I propose to you the park of Indiana Adventures. It would be a family owned attraction on 135 acres that have already been tested. The ground IS stable. The land is in Greenwood, IN, a city about 20 minutes Southeast of Indianapolis. There is not an airport nearby, so we request that there not be a small height requirement.

We plan for 3 coasters to open with the park, along with 11 other rides. We are in talks with companies such as Vekoma Inc., Arrow Dynamics, Huss Manufacturing, and Tivoli Rides.

Other attractions, such as live music/shows and restaurants are also in the works. We have contacted food chains such as Subway and Domino's Pizza but have received no concrete answer.

Indiana Adventures would be expected to open in early April of 1995. $13 million will be put into the park for the first year. This is a major attraction and we realize the work that we will have to put into it. Thank you for acknowledging this proposal.

The project was approved on November 12, 1993. Work began two weeks ago, on February 3rd, 1994.

Being the coaster enthusiast I am, I have been following this park for the last two weeks, and plan to for a long while. Here is a logo the park sent to AcBarr along with some construction pictures I have taken over the last 14 days. Enjoy![/b]

Shot0003.bmp

Look at the nice little island...

Notice the ground being worked on behind the island? Supposedly a giant ferris wheel or an observation tower will be placed there. What do you think?

Shot0002.bmp

And the entrance plaza from inside the park........

Shot0001.bmp

The next few pictures were taken this morning. This is the front of the new entrance building. You can see the bright park logo on the top-front. Is it just me, or does it look a little too... bright?

Shot0005.bmp

Later in the same day, they added the 3rd and final gate.

Shot0004.bmp

This was taken the second day of construction. Looks amazing, doesn't it?

This is pretty good looking for your fist themed park.. I saw in another post, that you would like to have some suggestions to get this park better, so here are mine:

1. The entracne building looks a little too big for me, but I have no idea of how this park will look like in the future, so perhaps it's an okay size it has.

2. Instead of the island in the middle of the water, you should try to put some stones in. For example: Marnetmar's Leftoverz

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Well its been a week or two, and work is steadily progressing. It was true that the park was adding a giant ferris wheel, you can see it in a few pictures below. It seems the park is focusing on one attraction at a time, and though the wheel was put up quickly, work may need to pick up the pace in order for everything to open on the scheduled date next April.

A bit of unexpected news, the park seems to have re-landscaped the inside of the entrance plaza. They have cleared out the oasis, and added a small rose garden arranged into the letters IA, which I'm sure stands for Indiana Adventures. Do you think this was a smart move?

Onto some pics...

Shot0009.bmp

Ohwoooo, Ahhhhhhh!

I believe the park is planning for a water-jet/light show in front of the ferris wheel every night, right before closing. Could be interesting...

Shot0007.bmp

The whole park..... so far.

Shot0006.bmp

The River Wheel... (I'm guessing it got its name from the Ohio River, which boarders Indiana?)

Shot0008.bmp

To this!

What do you think?

Shot0003.bmp

So in a matter of days, we go from this........

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Hey again! Well, it turns out that Domino's refused to sponsor the park, so Indiana Adventures went to Pizza Hut, who quickly accepted the offer! (I am more of a Pizza Hut fan anyway......)

Construction on the restaurant started a few days after I talked to you last. It was finished two days ago. Here are some pictures, enjoy!

Shot0010.bmp

The new Pizza Hut!

Shot0012.bmp

Looks like quite a large construction site...

Could this be the location of one of the coasters?

Shot0011.bmp

Uh oh, what is that I see?

UPDATE

I was sent a fax yesterday about the details of the three coaster. There's nothing too revealing, but I think it will hold us over until construction is started. Anybody have some guesses as to what these will be?

Vekoma Indoor Coaster- this is a very common model of a coaster, we are just putting it inside a building to increase the thrill factor

Used Arrow Dynamics Coaster- this coaster was bought last year from Knott's Berry Farm, it is another fairly common model

Tivoli Family Coaster- a medium Tivoli coaster that interacts with some terrain

I will get to the park as soon as I can for a construction update! I hear one of the coasters will be tucked in beside the park's entrance....... which do you think it will be?

Check back soon for more!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it! A lot of things can happen in a couple weeks, but who would ever expect something like this to spring up so quickly?

Enjoy the update!

Shot0013.bmp

Uh oh, do I see something behind the trees???

Shot0019.bmp

That's all for now. Check back soon for more updates!

Shot0018.bmp

The lights will really help to brighten up some of the darker sections of the park.

Shot0017.bmp

In other news, Indiana Adventures has added new benches and midway lights around the park... well, what has been constructed of it, that is.

Shot0021.bmp

Here you can see the coaster's entrance, as well as it's logo.

Shot0016.bmp

Through the newly planted trees, you can make-out Black Widow's overflow queue. This may have to be used quite often, for the coaster only has one train.

*Note: Only one train has been spotted, it is possible that another train has been put in storage.

Shot0015.bmp

Here you can see some of the beautiful scenery that you will fly by while riding Black Widow!

The park ran a few tests today to make sure nothing was damaged during the coaster's shipment from Knott's Berry Farm. Official testing won't begin until next March.

Shot0014.bmp

Indeed I do! It's the park's first coaster, Black Widow!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Wow, construction has really picked up in the last few days! The park has already completed two projects since last time I talked to you!

The park has now started building towards the right side. They have added an adventure restaurant called Greenwood Grill, and a chairswing ride named Jitterbug. How do things look, you ask? See for yourself.......

Shot0029.bmp

The whole park so far!

Shot0028.bmp

Both new attractions.

Shot0027.bmp

In this picture you can see the queue for Jitterbug. There's no shade, so this could cause a problem in the hot summer months...

Shot0026.bmp

Here is an overview of Greenwood Grill, it's much larger than Pizza Hut!

Shot0024.bmp

This is the park's second restaurant, Greenwood Grill. It got its name from Indiana Adventures' location, Greenwood, IN.

Shot0022.bmp

Jitterbug, the new chairswing ride!

^So which is it? lol. I will take all (reasonable) comments and suggestions into consideration. There is actually a reason I am over-packing the park with trees, but you will have to wait MANY operating seasons to find out why......

(the suspense builds........)

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Well, I swung by the park today on my way home from work, not expecting to see much. But to my surprise, the park had already installed another ride! I was swept off my feet; it has only been a couple days!

The park's 3rd ride is a Huss Topspin labeled Cliff Diver. This is probably my favorite ride yet, as I am a HUGE fan of topspins. Plus, it is placed over a small pond, and geysers shoot up towards you every few rotations adding to the excitement!

Take a look...

Shot0034.bmp

I leave you with this mystery shot...

A HUGE plot of land has been cleared for something beside Cliff Diver. What could it be? The next coaster? A giant thrill ride? An eating complex? We'll just have to wait and see...

Shot0033.bmp

Don't ask me why I put this picture in the update even though it is nothing new, I just thought the shot was really cool!

Shot0032.bmp

Cliff Diver is on the right side of the park, along with Jitterbug and Greenwood Grill.

Shot0031.bmp

Yeah I do! It's Cliff Diver, the park's new HUSS Topspin!

Shot0030.bmp

Do I see something different?

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

This week has been kind of dull as far as construction goes, but I'm not complaining. After all, they did throw up three attractions last week! A few things have been going on though. Take a look...

Shot0038.bmp

Overview of the park at night. Please note: Path lighting has not been added to the right side of the park yet, so things will get brighter from here! (Nice pun, huh? lol)

*Check back soon for another construction update. I feel the next one will be big. What do you think it will be???

Shot0037.bmp

A look down the midway. Will this view change soon? Hmm...

Shot0036.bmp

This small structure has gone up. I'm not sure what it is for yet, but I have been told that something big will be constructed in the next couple weeks. The next coaster???

Shot0035.bmp

The park has re-routed Cliff Diver's queue line so that it could hold triple the amount of people. A very good decision, in my opinion........

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Well, I hadn't planned on talking to you again so soon, but new stuff is going up at a fast rate!

Remember that cleared plot of land I showed you last time? Well it turns out that it is the location of a new children's section called Little Tyke's Timber Town. The only projects that have been completed so far are:

- Entrance (you saw this last update...)

- Fountain Plaza (a huge fountain, beautifully landscaped, right inside the entrance)

- Tree-Top-Twister (a spiral slide)

- Little Logger (Tivoli-Medium coaster, placed over a small pond with a fountain, and themed with log-shaped trains)

- Woodland Wheel (a much smaller version of The River Wheel for the entire family to enjoy)

All of these attractions are on the right side of the fountain plaza, so we should probably expect farther expansion on the left side next update. Here's some pictures of the progress so far!

*Comments and suggestions would be appreciated...

Shot0046.bmp

Overview of what has been completed of Little Tyke's Timber Town!

Shot0045.bmp

Woodland Wheel. Doesn't look like anything compared to The River Wheel, does it?

Shot0044.bmp

Going down!

Shot0043.bmp

This is Little Logger. It is the 2nd out of 3 coasters that will open with the park. Here you can see the whole layout.

Shot0042.bmp

The kids spiral slide, Tree-Top-Twister!

Shot0041.bmp

Here is the fountain plaza. It is located at the very end of the park boundary, so don't expect farther expansion to the east of LTTT...

Shot0040.bmp

Small fountains and the Little Tyke's Timber Town logo have been added to the section's entrance!
