Photo TR: Gondolania, Qatar

Here's a much delayed trip report from Gondolania in the Villaggio Mall in Qatar.

I was working in Qatar and had no real idea there was a theme park in the Villaggio mall. I had heard that they had planned one so went to have a look on a night off.

All the photos are taken on my mobile so not the best, but, this is a unique look at a really unique park

The mall was quite impressive

They had gondolas

An Ice Skatting Rink

TGI Fridays

and the entertainment centre

go kart track

one of the spin n puke rides.

Dave - I always love seeing your trip reports, since they are from WAY off the beaten path for me. I giggled when I saw the TGI Fridays in Quatar. I worked for them a LONG LONG time ago and they were really just starting the international openings. Jhakarta Indonesia was a pain in the butt to get opened and operational back then - now they have them all over the place, including Quatar.

I'd never thought of that. Now I'm giggling like a fool at the office again and people think I'm crazier than normal.

Surely the same applies in the UAE?

OK, I just checked out the park's website and the park has some additional rides with the a Drop Tower and Dark Ride. I anxiously await more pictures.

Is that log flume made of marble!?

Looks awesome! That blue coaster sure looks like a Gerstlauer.

The mall reminds me of the Grand Canal Shoppes in Las Vegas.
