Six Flags over Texas Flooding 9.8.10

Postby chadster » Wed Sep 08, 2010 3:10 pm

Did a quick search on this and for a thread on SFOT, didn't come up with anything (again quick search) but seen on the news where SFOT was under water courtesy of Tropical Storm Hermine

Have you found anything on Schlitterbahn NB? I saw video of the surrounding area and it looks INSANE! Would love to see how the park did!

Thanks!

I can give the folks a call considering I live like 10 minutes away from Schlitterbahn...from what I've heard they got 10 inches of rain over night in my area! We all remember what happened last time, I hope it's not as bad!

And thanks for sharing to the original poster.

Yikes! It's not very often that you see a Six Flags park getting flooded...

I'm sure the park will drain soon, a week at most...

[s]I haven't yet found out anything about Schlitterbahn NB, my friends say they evac'd about 1k people in the area but don't know and haven't heard anything on the news about the park itself. Nothing on their FB page either[/s]

Lots of video of rescues in the arlington/dallas area, if anyone wants to see them I can post them, however nothing else on SFOT. Up a few hundred miles in OK, we are expecting 5 inches of rain overnight, however, it's a steady rain and flash flooding shouldn't be an issue, just have to worry about flooding in general in the low areas and shallow creeks.

^ not insane, I was thinking the same thing!

**edit** guess NB made it through according to this article, so guess they made it.

I've heard about the roads flooding and trees coming down in the north east SA area, but nothing major. Can't confirm or anything but I'd say Schlitterbahn is fine! Last time this happened (well when they had flooding) they were very verbal and let us know of any updates!
