I live just down the street from Cedar Point, and I guess you'd label me as a fanboy!

Go to Cedar Points website and go to the blog in the "online fun" section. In one of the older blog posts they posted a picture of the site (ride removed).

*edit*
Went ahead and found it for you :)

In the past couple weeks since opening a lot of progress has been made on the ride. It's now topped off and looking fresh in its new paint:

More work has started on the station area and some of the track has gone in as well. The area around the ride is coming together as well. I think they're still hoping for early June, but mid-June is looking more realistic.

From the park's Facebook:

To everyone asking about Demon Drop opening: electrical and control systems are still being installed, access paths and ramps construction is on-going, I saw one ride compartment on the return track the other day and think we will see some testing soon. Best estimates for public opening are in the last week of June.

I had the chance to ride Demon Drop on Friday for the first time and I loved it! It looks very nice in the area that it's located. The wait was the longest at the park, around 20-30 minutes all day (if you've ever been to Dorney, you know this is a long wait for a weekday). One problem I see, though, is with the queue. It starts by going under the end of the runway, turns left and goes next to the ride, then goes into the station. No switchbacks or anything. With the queue being 3/4 full the day I was there, I'm sure it could easily fill up quickly on weekends. Everyone coming off the ride seemed to enjoy it, and I, along with the people I was at the park with, loved the ride.

It was closed when I was at the park today (well I guess yesterday), 1 car was almost at the top of the lift, the rest were in the boarding area.

I prefer to mate with donkeys over humans!

I rode it this past Thursday, and it was a walk-on, along with everything else in the park. It was okay. I just hate the transfer from the top track to the bottom.

Holy crap you have a HUGE donkey!

I rode it on Saturday afternoon. It had been closed earlier in the day with a car sloooowly moving up the shaft, and opened up between 2 and 3 probably. We rode with around a 5 minute wait. It did not live up to my memories of Stuntman's Freefall at Great Adventure, though perhaps it had to do with my harness being rather tight and our car (6) seemed to be making more noise than any other when transferring down. The ride up seemed slow and the cars were only dispatched once all the third car from the last set was dropping. It broke down a little after we rode too. I'll try it again next time to see if it seems better, but my ride was really boring.

I remember the days when freefalling 10 stories was actually a thrill.
