What Now Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I had passed by this place a lot being that it's very close to Knott's. Heard it was cloeing soon, so it was time to pay a vist. A bunch of other people had the same idea, because it was fairly busy (at least busier then that place usally is). Without any further ado: Welcome to the Movieland Wax Museum. Not even David goes to this museum. "It's the Goodship...LOLLYPOP!" To Boldly Go where no wax statue has gone before. It's Indy! This is supposed to be Jack Nikelson (sp?). Wait! He's not an actor (although he can be pretty entertaining at times)
Nrthwnd Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Wow How depressing - seeing a Starbucks logo sign in between the main sign's support columns. Nice little TR, WN. I remember my visits later on, when they had the Black Box attraction, within the museum. Was pretty cool for it's time. Pre-theme park haunts, too, hmm? Must dig out my stuff from 1963 - the flyer, etc. Thanks for the memories. (***I also thought, that this thread should be in the "other forum" postings, hmmm? Hey, early days of theme parks and 'roadside attractions,' yes?)
Andrew643 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 ^^ I went there last year! I remember because I really wanted to go to Knotts afterwards, but I didn't get to.
FlyingScooter Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 i love wax museums! Nice work. However, that goodship lollipop one is just scarey.
robbalvey Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Any indication or talk at all about what is happening to the place? And did they still have the massive candy store in the place? --Robb
What Now Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 ^ I didn't think to ask what was going to happen. :opps: They do sell candy there, but it's part of the gift shop. There is 'however, a whole room dedicated to Salt Water Taffy.
