Another coaster with rider warnings posted on the outside of the train. This area is still a lovely summertime beach destination, with a small amusement area. Would be much lovlier, however, with a classic seaside woodie.

The ride pictured here is most likely the Jack Rabbit, which operated from 1917 to 1946.

Well that's certainly an obscure coaster...no info on RCDB. In this view it appears to have had somewhat of an exciting figure 8 type layout.

Yummy! I just ate donkey!

I'm not sure about the upper OOB card, but this link leads to one labeled Jack Rabbit. I believe that is incorrect. That looks more like the PTC/Schmeck Cyclone that operated 1930-48.

You could be right Scott. I'll try to remember to check the Schmeck book when I get home from work and see if there are any good photos of the Cyclone in it.

It's on page 77. It's pretty convincing.

As for the first card, I've been looking for shots of the Cyclone's rolling stock but have yet to find any. Schmeck used the PTC two-bench trains for most of his twisters and those orange trains look like three-benchers to, so THAT may really be the Jack Rabbit. Anyone have anything to add?

Scott I checked out the Schmeck book and indeed the postcard in my link above appears to be of the OOB Cyclone and *not* the Jack Rabbit. Below is a scan of the Cyclone photo for those of you without the book. Other photos of Cyclone make it look like a fairly twisted and great ride! Now if we could only find some photos of Jack Rabbit to go along with restoca's postcard.

Here's one that is said to be the Jack Rabbit, found at this site called Historic Pictures of Old Orchard Beach. The later Cyclone looks much more thrilling.

Although the park is great this coaster is constantly voted one of the WORST steel coasters around

Last Sunday I was unable to bring all you valuable Postcard Paradise readers a new postcard here because I was out on a postcard shopping binge at Silver Dollar City. Wow...what a gorgeous park! I absolutely loved it. Since I've been going to Dollywood all my life, SDC seriously had a very similar feel to it for me, and that's a good thing. Really I think all the park is lacking is a good woodie, and it would be perfect. It's definitely a park everyone should check out! Here's a look at Wildifire, Silver Dollar City's short but intense B&M.

Cedar Point is always a good park to visit during the summer season.
