Nice trip reports!

I've been to Gardaland on Sunday, and I was surprised by the theming...
IDK why, but I never thought Gardaland would have much theming...
Anyway, what is it about Sequoia that you don't like? I mean, it's not the best ride ever, but it's still pretty fun, and the feeling at the top, when you know the train is going to flip over any second, even tho the train travels quite fast, and there's nothing you can do about it, is awesome IMO... lol
Also, I rode Blue Tornado 3 times, and the only time it hurt my head was when I was in the 1st row!

Oh, did you buy the Gardaland express extreme card? On sunday, the lines were huge, and it really helped out a lot!

November 1st 2008:

EXPEDITION SPAIN: DAY ONE: Parque de Attracciones de Madrid!

First I want to thank all my crazy friends for another awesome trip and in particular those who worked to make it so special.

Ok... here we go!
Madrid_05.JPG
It's 5.30 am and we are all ready to get on out flight to Madrid.

Madrid_03.JPG
Due to the fact that the flight was scheduled to take off at 6 am many of the partecipants decided to spend the night at the airport. I wasn't among them.

So we arrived in Madrid and we took this very fast and cool train to go to the hostel.

I should post this later but I don't have one from the other side.

With another train we arrived to our destination: Parque de Attracciones de Madrid.

Madrid_13.JPG
We arrived just in time for our awesome photo walk back tour of the forest of doom.
Viewed 1934 times
Madrid_15.JPG
After about 15 minutes of walking without getting any closer to the rides we decided that the forest of doom wasn't really the best place for a photo walk back tour so we went back to the park entrance.

OMG! This guy looks just like me!

Finally it was time to get some action!

Many of the rides inside the park had that little white board which says that the ride is closed for manteinence.

Abismo was still closed.

Random close up. And that's a steep lift hill!

While waiting for Abismo to open we went on the free fall tower.
It's an Intamin so it's obviously good!

My friends enjoied their ride.

Time to ride Abismo.

Madrid_45.JPG
Time to move to the next ride. There were so many rides not working that we didn't have many choices.
Viewed 1934 times

We rode Tarantula. It was OK. I still think that Dragon's Fury is better.

Random Halloween theming.

Time for some crazy Intamin awesomeness.

Overall it was not a bad coaster even if it had some rough spots and the final helix was too slow.

My friends decided to ride the NEW ride for 2008: the Disk'O.
I don't like spinning rides so I just didn't ride it and went around to take some pics.

I found a nice angle to take photos of Abismo!

I wanted to get this super awesome credit but we needed a kid.
When you have to steal a kid to ride you see who's a real credit whore and who's not. We weren't.

Look at it! We missed the best kiddie credit ever!

The bad news was: Coaster Express was not going to be open today.
The good news was: Stunt Whatever was going to be open today.

The park was still closed but they let us inside the main street.

Random theming!

I spotted some B&M awesomeness in the back of the park.

Madrid_145.JPG
Ok.
The good news is: they are testing Stunt Fall.
The bad news is: there are some problems with the second tower. It looks like they can't pull the train up.

So we'll have to wait. Maybe they can fix this!

While waiting for the coasters to worm up and open, we rode the Scooby Doo dark ride.

Time to take a spin on a classic ride: the teacups. We were spinning way too much.

Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_153.JPG
After the teacups we rode Batman The Dark Ride. I can't remember the real name but it wasn't so good so it's not really important.

The guy in the picture is our webmaster: Penny!
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_173.JPG
Second credit of the day: Batman The Ride. I rode it twice: once in the front and once in the back.
It was awesome. It wasn't my first Batman experience but I wasn't expecting it to be so good.

I like this photo so much I had to post it in my trip report. It was taken by my friend Ago.

Madrid_154.JPG
Time for more B&M awesomeness: Superman Attraccion de Acero!
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_175.JPG
Cobra roll!!!

It's a super awesome ride even if in the front it vibrates pretty bad. That's why I kept riding it in the back!

Close up for the real B&M fanboys.

Classic signature shot of Superman's lift hill from the midway.

The group went to enjoy the mad house while me, Kunzi and Gico went to check out Stunt Fall conditions.

Madrid_157.JPG
As soon as we got there an operator told us that it was not yet open. We asked if it was going to open later in the day and he said yes.
He looked like he was pretty sure about what he had just said.
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_160.JPG
While we were there they started to test it but the train stopped at the bottom of the second lift. It looked like they were having some problems on getting the train up the second tower.

We went back to the mad house to wait for our friend and after a few minutes something really BAD happened...
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_161.JPG
Another test.
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_164.JPG
There's something wrong here... Stunt Fall's train got stuck in the cobra roll.

I bet it's nothing big and they will move it back in the station in no time!
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_165.JPG
Lets take another picture before it's too late.

So we went to have lunch in Gotham City.
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_168.JPG
After lunch, the best wooden coaster in this park was still closed so we went to ride soething else.

Random Superman's first drop shot with Batman zero-g roll on the left.

Superman's first drop was so awesome. In the back seat you get out of your seat in the pre drop and you float all the way down. Amazing!

There's also a big a$$ free fall tower in this park!
It's lame but it gives one nice view of the park from the top.

After 6 more rides on Superman we went to watch the Batman Bebins show.

That's probably when we lost our hopes about riding Stunt Fall.
Viewed 1788 times
Madrid_185.JPG
So we finished our day with tho more rides on Superman and one on Batman.

It was a great day even with two big missed credits.
