^They actually play a ton of commercials for the event here, as well as for Schlitterbahn's Hill Country Christmas...which I will add a Photo TR for in this thread after this post.

I've been told that Saturday nights have been very busy, and the parks is succeeding its projected crowd. Being a Friday night, most people were on their way home from work while the park was opening. We'll see how the crowds are for the New Year's event!

Alrighty, here is my trip report for Schlitterbahn's Hill Country Christmas Event. It has a very similar operation schedule compared to HIP. I went back on November 29th, the second night of operation. For the first ever event of this kind at the park, they really did do a nice job and there is plenty to do to fill up your time at the park. In fact, I didn't even see everything.

On to the photos!

Hill Country Christmas opened at 5pm. Here is a shot of the entrance, which is located in the "Old Section" of the park. BTW, the old section is known for being home to the awesome tube shoots!

We were given advice to sign up for ice skating first, so we headed straight there! They were right...the line was already this far from the blue roof you can see in the picture.

After signing up we started to walk around and check everything out...for those daring enough, they had the hot tub open with a functioning bar!

Another overview of the ice skating area...during the summer this is a natural pool in which a tube shoot and water slide feed in to

We made our way down to the Bobsled Racer, but the line was huge...luckily we wouldn't have to wait later and you will see why ;)

Here you can really see how huge this thing was...and yes, it is a water slide during the summer.

Santa's Workshop was a nice setup that included a Santa greet for the little ones and two miniature train displays

After busting my ass we checked out some other decorations...this was the main tree and it was a light show every hour or so, going along with traditional Christmas songs.

If you couldn't tell by the size of this thing, you get going sooo fast! The carpet at the end has the tough job of slowing you down, and many people there crashed into the hay at the far end of the slide!

That's all I have for yah! Thanks to Schlitterbahn for the sliding ERT and meal they fed us earlier in the day...didn't take any photos then. I look forward to seeing how this event becomes better and better as the years go on! With Jeffrey Siebert, you know it will only get better!

Wow, Schitlerbahn has quite a setup for the winter. Lookin' forward to the SFoT review, and if you haven't already been, get ther as early as possible.

Wow I didn't realize Shlitterbahn had a holiday event. Seems like it would be closed around this time. Glad to see they can make such great use of some of the slides. I don't understand why they can't do that here in Cali. Taiko Confused Red Anyway....thanks again for both sets of photos.

Great pics. They seem to do a good job with the lights. The park looks good at night. I don't really get the Aztec themeing around the Goliath coaster. Why wouldn't they give it a name that fits the surrounding themeing.

Nice report. I too had no idea that Schlitterbahn had a holiday deal. I moved to Texas a few years ago, and have only made it to Fiesta Texas thus far (during the summer). Does Sea World do anything for the holidays?

Also, just wanted to note how refreshing it is to read a report that doesn't involve self-aggrandizing blowhardy remarks, ridiculous comments, and creepy pictures. Amazing you didn't need a contest or some other gimmick to put together an entertaining and interesting report.

Thanks.

^Yes! Sea World is also open for the holiday season. However I won't be going as I don't have a season pass and the prices are pretty high! Sure would love ride Steel Eel again though.

It's really cool that all of the parks in the state are open this time of the year-heck, SFFT only has one month without an operating day (February). Sometimes the season pass preview event falls in February though!
