Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Alright guys. After checking out the construction today, getting views from Vortex really makes it look like they are going to have to crunch in this first drop. Seriously. From the bottom of the first drop, to the bottom of the lift hill....it looks like it's going to need to go very, very steep uphill to fit the hill in. That's just how it looks to me...you'd really have to see it yourself to comment..

^^I agree with how steep this lift is going to be. I believe I said something about it a few pages back about it but your picture really shows it.

JZ, all I can say is, less time spent on the lift hill is better for capacity, so I'm all for a quick, steep lift, and it appears that's what is being built, so bravo!

After watching the videos a few times, I think the lift is going to be very very steep, and it appears the transition from the top of the lift into the drop is going to be very quick; similar to Maverick's. Anyone understand that?

More track's going up on the second hill. Its starting to look pretty tall compared to Deathbat the ride, and the surrounding areas. I mean, its finally starting to take 2 angles to show what they've done on the 2nd hill so far.

Wow - that webcam angle makes that incline look ridiculously steep!!

My grandmother lives like, 1.5 hours from KI, so I'm really hoping to get there soon enough...really hoping.

Ok. Now were getting serious. That incline really shows how big the coaster will be when it's done. I sense lots of air.

This may very well be in my list of favorite steel coasters!

^That is exactly how I feel about this ride. With being on Nitro and Apollo's Chariot, I know what to expect. I also hear the new trains are much better than the old ones, so I am expecting a really great ride.

Wow, I knew this would be a big ride, but it looks absolutely huge in its location. Even though it is only as tall as the average hyper coaster, Diamondback looks a lot taller than what it will really be, and it will just dominate Kings Island's skyline.

The first drop is now coming along very nicely...
