Oh, yes! There is a new ride here too...Mammut! This is the first woodie built by pre-fab manufacturer "Ingenieur-Holzbau Cordes" (same guys that built the track for all of Intamin's pre-fab woodies)

Mammut was an "interesting" ride. Clearly you can see that everyone in the picture is having fun, but at the same time the ride was kind of a let down for some of us. It's a pre-fab woodie like Colossos at Heide Park, and looks a lot like Troy at Toverland. But it rides far more like a "family" coaster with very little airtime or forces throughout the ride. It's VERY smooth, which is awesome, but I think for the size of the ride we all expected something a little more thrilling.

Man, we're a sexy-lookin' tour group!

;)

Great stuff on Tripsdrill, Robb. It's a pretty, landscaped park that has a few really great wtf-omg attractions here and there. I really enjoyed just strolling through it all, when getting to the rides.

Tripsdrill was me and Jon/flossy's Canada Day park, on the tour. Of course, we went to Holiday Park the same day, but Tripsdrill was a nice start to Canada Day. (And Holiday park was the FIREWORKS, to end it LOL.)

I got a free glass! And bought some wine to put in it, lol.
(Actually, everybody got the free glass, but it was still nice to get it on that day.)
Talk is cheap  Action is Pricele$$

Tripsdrill was indeed a beautiful park - some of the best landscaping / scenery of the entire trip I thought. That log flume was a hoot! (Rub-a-dub-dub, SIX men in a tub!) The tree drop tower actually surprised the hell out of me (in a good way).

I even enjoyed Mammut. As a coaster enthusiast, I think it's real easy to get spoiled on coasters like "Kentucky Rumbler", for example - we see other new woodies of a similar size, and expect them to deliver the same kind of thrills. And I don't think that's really what Tripsdrill was going for with Mammut. Mammut was certainly a more family-oriented ride, but what it does, I think it does quite well. It's certainly smooth, which is always good in my book (let's not forget this was the first woodie we rode after Bandit!) - and I thought the tunnel was great. A bit more speed would have been nice, but just the same, I liked Mammut for what it was.

I should also note this was the day Ivan bought the water pistol! That ended up providing quite a bit of unexpected entertainment. I'll never forget coming down the "giant slide of death inside the windmill" and getting a faceful of water at the bottom! Too damn funny...

And Robb - thanks for not killing or maiming any of us on G'sengte Sau! You are now hereby promoted to operate a bigger coaster...

Tripsdrill was great, yet another gem of a park from Germany. I seriously need to spend more time in this country!!

When I grow up, I want to breed donkeys!

Great TPR!

Though, knowing that GCI has not released any designs yet, I guess me and all other coaster enthusiasts in California can expect Six Flags Magic Mountain's new Terminator wooden coaster to be a clone of Mammut or something similiar to it? With Mammut seemingly to be a more family friendly coaster, and Mark Shapiro making Six Flags more family oriented, it seems to me that a Mammut clone would be the best choice.

Um? Did you READ the trip report? Mammut is *NOT* built by GCI!

Yep Rapids and NO wetness on back to back rides.

I really wish I could have felt better on this day. this place had a lot of great attractions, but I just wanted to sleep.

Why do I still have a donkey title???

I don't know about that, Ryan. Holiday World promotes themselves as THE family park. And what kind of coasters do they feature? Three very aggressive woodies, including The Voyage, which is as aggressive as it gets. I think they could have safely turned up the juice on Mammut a bit.
