Actually, AWorld's Mayan Mindbender is no longer in storage; it's up and almost ready to run at its new home. Check out: www.amusementtoday.com for pics -- there's an auto slide-show about half-way down.

I rode it in the dark as Nightmare @ Boblo Island. I look forward to seeing it run outside in the Texas sun.

I posted this over on the other thread about Northern California theme parks back in 1979 but wanted to put it here in my thread too.

^What a great classic commercial! I heard about an old commercial for Freefall at SFMM with fighter jets or something, have you seen that? And by the way, excellent, excellent work in regard to your Knott's video.

^Those aren't actual commercials for Great America, the background music is from an old Marriott's radio ad, but all the videos are home movies I shot and edited together.

Cool. It sure looks like they ran Tidal Wave the same way Kentucky Kingdom's Greezed Lightning does now. I guess it has always been braked quite a bit in the station.

Edit: Oops Wrong Great America. :lmao:

Is it me or did the Tidal Wave seem really slow? Weight drops aren't as good as Flywheels like GL @ Astroworld.

Anyone agree?

Flywheel shuttles > weight drop shuttle.

That's one of the reasons I've always liked Montezooma's Revenge.

Do you have anymore on the old Elitch Gardens? Maybe late 80s early 90s. I loved that place as a kid. Thanks for showin what you've got.

Also, what about the new Elitch's in 1995?
