That was a sweet video. The swinging was really crazy in some of those turns! Thanks for sharing it with us! :)

Wow, that is a great video. I had no idea how wild that ride was. It's too bad that it could not have been salvaged through some design modifications.

It has so many similarities to Top Gun, er, flight deck?...er...Afterburn? um yeah. It looks a lot like the arrow suspended coaster in the front part of King's Island. Especially how it climbs the lift immediately following the station.

I can totally remember that two armed ferris wheel.

Those gondolas spun faster than a gravitron. *vomit in mouth*

Holy crap that thing swung violently through some of those transitions. I could definitely see why they had problems with it. Great video!!

I know that this was the first modern Suspended Swinging Coaster and everything, but Ron Toomer and the designers had to have known that the cars were not meant to swing that violently.

First, thanks for the compliment...I think? I was just a young child when I took this footage which makes me just about 40, and remember 40 is the new 30!

Second, I am working with Robb right now on downloading it to the video forum, but remember because I am not as quick as these young whipper snappers nowadays, it is taking me some time to figure out how to do it. But I am quite impressed that I figured out how to do the youtube thing all by myself. Now if I could just figure out how to set the timer on my VCR...

Haha I meant the footage was old, It held up quite nice over the years.

I think it was very well done for a young guy in 1981 way before it was "normal" to film coasters. ;)

Great job

Thank you for posting the video. I was at the park in 1981 at the age of 5.
