=\ Soem of the pakr panroamas are tiny... Really hard to make them out...

Those coaster panormas, though...

The picture of thunderbolt and phantom's revenge together is BEAUTIFUL! Really good job there!

Posted

The park ones look small because I stitched a large number of pictures together and I had to resize them down to fit in the forum.

A few more:

beechbend2-2.zip

Beech Bend in higher resolution

tboltandphantom-medium.zip

Higher resolution version of Thunderbolt and Phantom. I guess this qualifies as Coaster Porn!

I'm giving this TR another chance.

This section will be broken up into smaller parts

IMG_5699.JPG.0e4a08b5309e14e0226ba72dd4ac7bd0.JPG

Our beloved Vekoma masterpiece.

To be continued (maybe)

IMG_5697-1.JPG.91518b5f997ab5ed6719e3c6fa6712c7.JPG

We already had Bull, so we went to the next best option

IMG_5696-1.JPG.bacb3b7d097ae386124fdc4025ac4907.JPG

Fortunately Robb and Elissa were able to get us Gold Q-bots to make the task a little easier

IMG_5694.JPG.1257e76cfe39609e83cf01f487dd2144.JPG

But we had credits to get

IMG_5695-1.JPG.8b0f6cc0226de65e60d0531b97d2f8b3.JPG

ERT was over

IMG_5693-1.JPG.92d1b1072490a4ecf5bb4a4ed46a84df.JPG

By now, people were starting to enter the park

IMG_5690.JPG.b6b112646aa41512178ceb75c1ce968e.JPG

Nobody wanted to ride with me

IMG_5689-1.JPG.c7a828616072bf0c62deac3c86da5a40.JPG

Watch your feet!

IMG_5685-1.JPG.cdeb2cb32bd337e54b4d4babb8be2cd6.JPG

The park also opened up the Intamin drop for us

IMG_5678-1.JPG.04f44b7f1c8bc2433e41cdd401e41087.JPG

I though this shot was kind of interesting

IMG_5674-1.JPG.97b60bf9da612ac2ebc5fb1d2470856c.JPG

It had a few good headchoppers

If you look closely, you can see that some of the lapbars are still up.

They've torn down a few CyClones in the last few years, including Texas Cyclone, Aska, and Psyclone. Hopefully this one will remain for many years to come

IMG_5656-1.JPG.5c2ce5588a56b8cccad0e8432c2c84df.JPG

Is the train half-full or half-empty? I'm going to be an optimist here and say it's half-empty

IMG_5654-1.JPG.7b107e3b68dfb1cc1aaa0b03e6f1e4ea.JPG

When Robb and Elissa get us ERT, it really is ERT

IMG_5639-1.JPG.7139b0487e1716e9ac0faff6d2648fc7.JPG

TPR loves Raging Bull

A view of American Eagle from RB's queue

IMG_5632-1.JPG.e3cfc6dcc5f720098b6f97360de39ec3.JPG

So roomy an ACEr could ride it

IMG_5628-1.JPG.e2790388b73c4257b3a501e9c8bb4be3.JPG

Many of us headed for Raging Bull, the second of the B&M hypers

IMG_5624-1.JPG.73a0dde86c257df61c594151cf02c14d.JPG

Regardless of whether the lawn ornament was doing anything, we had ERT to get in

IMG_5623.JPG.f3a3699585143df25e284bb2fbe34b45.JPG

This was one of the first sights we saw upon entering. It does look kind of pretty for a lawn ornament

IMG_5617-1.JPG.677e5bb2dff94cddda76e89d4d444bfb.JPG

Will they even let us in?

IMG_5616-1.JPG.824dbb86d113f7eff20db749afb06f15.JPG

...though we have to get through security first

IMG_5614-1.JPG.622e915059606919ef2f38df8eaab15e.JPG

But we can go in through the side entrance...

IMG_5613.JPG.92b119d0dc7b15e816d10f608aa98c5c.JPG

But wait, ERT starts at 9:15 and they haven't even opened the gates yet

IMG_5608.JPG.770bf8f190565f8e3843620c4b381307.JPG

It appears that Six Flags is having a Cedar Fair moment

IMG_5607.JPG.337ac8c67f19bfdd20236a400565994d.JPG

But we're not cavemen, we're fully trained coaster enthusiasts who weigh a little less than the other clubs

Viper: So easy a caveman could do it.

Welcome to Six Flags, brought to you today by Geico and Comcast. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on your car insurance!

Next up was Six Flags Great America

Posted

SFGAm continued

IMG_5702-1.JPG.bc6e76e726b41edbad49f95b1f0c13da.JPG

Knowing the low capacity of the ride (and its reputation for not being reliable), most of us who were smart headed for it after ERT

demon-loop.jpg.77b78bea7a702b0a373fc5d95af346bc.jpg

Demon (and its clone at Great America in California) are probably the only coasters that actually gained inversions during their lifetime. Maybe they should do the same with SoB

To be continued.

IMG_5750-1.JPG.9d4097473af28fa249e933cb1909f147.JPG

Jahan was happy to ride

IMG_5746-1.JPG.762c42030f29b8514106e503944f6dae.JPG

It's a typical Arrow coathanger machine

IMG_5739-1.JPG.d02a8969326410e2ab3345c0718b7a19.JPG

My group took Robb and Elissa's advice and headed for Demon next, also lacking Q-bot that day

IMG_5737-1.JPG.5e82dfaf446e91be9aba0daf42e7a201.JPG

When the line is full, you probably would need to eat after waiting in line for Vu.

IMG_5734-1.JPG.e7e1fe4c01c0d14fdf516b2591bfd369.JPG

IMG_5733.JPG.0362c77fa984392f8b55b51d4d6ac09b.JPG

The shoulder restraints had extra bars added during testing. It turned out that riders could put their arms up too far. It's still better than the shoulder bashing restraints on SLC's though.

IMG_5732-1.JPG.e0154df9223c0be9f7f932c16eeb0331.JPG

Two tracks equals two credits right?

IMG_5731-1.JPG.dcfc3570012fdc825c752e2f49dea82e.JPG

IMG_5721-1.JPG.7b0c6757ce85de23c9a89d4ab41dbfcf.JPG

Why is it that the inverted Boomerangs have these large gates in the station instead of the standard air-gates like on standard Boomerangs?

Sigh! I was bummed when they removed Willard's Whizzer from the Santa Clara Great America (they did this because of a fatal accident, though). I can't tell if Superman is aroused or annoyed by Terrence's attentions.
