Homer Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Great shots there Will, I remember that near collision on the Raven brake run and on Phantom's Revenge.
FLIPDUDE Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 =\ Soem of the pakr panroamas are tiny... Really hard to make them out... Â Those coaster panormas, though... Â The picture of thunderbolt and phantom's revenge together is BEAUTIFUL! Really good job there!
WillMontu Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 The park ones look small because I stitched a large number of pictures together and I had to resize them down to fit in the forum. Â A few more: beechbend2-2.zip Beech Bend in higher resolution tboltandphantom-medium.zip Higher resolution version of Thunderbolt and Phantom. I guess this qualifies as Coaster Porn! Gemini and Mean Squeak Draggin' Iron was running two trains on the first day - Here's proof! Racer
BeatleBen Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I'm enjoying your photo TR's roomie Will. Keep 'em coming!
Erik Johnson Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 This Photo TR now needs some photos of Deja Vu. Great pictures as always Will.
CreativeForce Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Great pictures Will, makes me wish I could have been there!
WillMontu Posted November 15, 2007 Author Posted November 15, 2007 I'm giving this TR another chance. Â This section will be broken up into smaller parts Our beloved Vekoma masterpiece. Â To be continued (maybe) We already had Bull, so we went to the next best option Fortunately Robb and Elissa were able to get us Gold Q-bots to make the task a little easier But we had credits to get ERT was over By now, people were starting to enter the park Nobody wanted to ride with me Watch your feet! The park also opened up the Intamin drop for us WE'VE GOT A MOTHER#%^ING SNAKE!!!11one I though this shot was kind of interesting It had a few good headchoppers If you look closely, you can see that some of the lapbars are still up. They've torn down a few CyClones in the last few years, including Texas Cyclone, Aska, and Psyclone. Hopefully this one will remain for many years to come Some more pics of RB Viper - Not just another CyClone "Wang" Is the train half-full or half-empty? I'm going to be an optimist here and say it's half-empty When Robb and Elissa get us ERT, it really is ERT TPR loves Raging Bull A view of American Eagle from RB's queue So roomy an ACEr could ride it Many of us headed for Raging Bull, the second of the B&M hypers Regardless of whether the lawn ornament was doing anything, we had ERT to get in This was one of the first sights we saw upon entering. It does look kind of pretty for a lawn ornament Will they even let us in? ...though we have to get through security first But we can go in through the side entrance... But wait, ERT starts at 9:15 and they haven't even opened the gates yet It appears that Six Flags is having a Cedar Fair moment But we're not cavemen, we're fully trained coaster enthusiasts who weigh a little less than the other clubs Viper: So easy a caveman could do it. Welcome to Six Flags, brought to you today by Geico and Comcast. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on your car insurance! One of the many perks to TPR trips Next up was Six Flags Great America
Flippero95 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I'm glad you decided to finish the TR, it's excellent! Don't leave us hanging on the rest of it!
FLIPDUDE Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Keep it going, Will! We want more! We want more! Â Don't leave me alone in the world of people who's TRs are still active XD
thecoasterkid Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Awesome stuff Will! The more active threads about that amazing trip the better!
Team Thriller Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Can't wait to see more. This truly is one of my favorite TR's there are. Not just The last one, but all of them. Â Keep it up!!!
krazekiddd Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Jesus, on the 3rd to the last picture, I'm so damn burnt it almost matches my hair. For the East Coast trip, must bring more sunscreen!
jynx242 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 ^ Golly - If I didn't know you better, I'd say you were a "redneck!" Â Thanks for the updateWill!! Appreciate it.
stingrock23 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Great stuff, Will. I'm glad you decided to finish it. I can never get enough of TR's from this awesome trip. I just wish I had taken more pictures.
WillMontu Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 SFGAm continued Knowing the low capacity of the ride (and its reputation for not being reliable), most of us who were smart headed for it after ERT Demon (and its clone at Great America in California) are probably the only coasters that actually gained inversions during their lifetime. Maybe they should do the same with SoB Â To be continued. Jahan was happy to ride It's a typical Arrow coathanger machine My group took Robb and Elissa's advice and headed for Demon next, also lacking Q-bot that day When the line is full, you probably would need to eat after waiting in line for Vu. The shoulder restraints had extra bars added during testing. It turned out that riders could put their arms up too far. It's still better than the shoulder bashing restraints on SLC's though. Two tracks equals two credits right? There's room to stick your whole hand in there if you wanted to A closer look at the track The evacuation platform is standard on many Boomerangs Why is it that the inverted Boomerangs have these large gates in the station instead of the standard air-gates like on standard Boomerangs? This is like porn for Derek The chevron seating is unique, but does add to the confusion for some riders Almost to the station, and the Geico 15 minute point The line itself isn't that long, but the waits can be very long due to the low capacity of the ride Unfortunately they weren't taking Q-bots for it that day
Zen Coaster Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Good to see this is still going as your photos are definitely some of the best. Thank you.
WillMontu Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Continued To be continued (maybe) Everyone fell out Smooth as a baby's bottom? The trains are slightly different from the ones on the newer standups Iron Wolf was the first B&M coaster ever, and it's probably the roughest This one too Of course Terrance got that credit This is the Q-Bot queue for Batman Gravy buffet Unlike most SF rides, it is actually somewhat themed Built in 1992, it was the first ever inverted coaster Batman was next The station was crowded, but the wait wasn't too bad with the Q-bots V2 was next I guess they do Do these count? Batman statue Superman statue: Check Prepare for Air! I prefer the B&M flyers over the Vekoma flyers The rest of the ride is the same though Unlike the ride at SFOG, this one only has a single station, but the trains are one row longer This is where the Q-Bot line started But we had Q-bots It had a really long wait Next up was Superman There are quite a few random statues scattered around the park It's the typical spinning mouse, and a fairly low capacity ride, especially for a park like SFGAm My group then followed Robb and Elissa's advice and headed for the spinning mouse
Team Thriller Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Awesome pics! Â Looked really crowded there. Luckly you had a Q-bot. That Batman beats down Magic Mountains due to it being the first and the best! Â Again, Awesome pics!
FLIPDUDE Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Great pics Will! I love tos ee your TR updated so don't let it poof away! Â Â I shall now go work on my TR some more. not sure if I'll finish the update though(Sicne I gotta work, and all) but you did inspire me to continue it
SharkTums Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I'm glad you've continued Will, nice pix!
WillMontu Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Finally done with SFGAm  Also, I don't want to annoy anyone by promoting my other threads, but I have another Photo TR in progress for some of the Orlando parks here Cedar Point will be next, though I have around 300 pictures to post On the stop-off on the way to Cedar Point, I made a roller coaster in the same way that Ron Toomer did Is that the Vekoma bus? Robb couldn't even give away his slightly used shorts Required shot But they won't save you money on car insurance Some of the prizes to be won Robb needs to work on his hand coordination Everyone who wanted to stay at SFGAm was sent out into the rain, and the rest of us stayed under the bridge It started to rain and people started to head for cover It's Wonder Woman! Hi Joe, how's it going? Even Elissa's parents rode The spiral lift is unique. In fact, it's even in RCT It's a classic Schwarzkopf dating back to the Marriot era Time to take a Whiz! A few more shots of our beloved Vekoma masterpiece I think that guy on the left could benefit from Robb's "Sex and water" diet The new Wiggles World Flame decals have been proven to make the trains go faster Although I only count it as one credit, I rode both sides to get the "full" credit With the addition of Wiggles World, getting to this coaster is a bit of a walk They had it racing too The trains have these strange looking shoulder bars Through the trees (I'm sure some of the photographers out there would appreciate this shot) See what I mean? Though it's probably ready for its next paint job That's a lot of paint Brought to you today by The Home Depot. You can do it, we can help. American Eagle was a record breaking coaster for its time
cfc Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Sigh! I was bummed when they removed Willard's Whizzer from the Santa Clara Great America (they did this because of a fatal accident, though). I can't tell if Superman is aroused or annoyed by Terrence's attentions.
stingrock23 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Thanks for posting more pics. I always enjoy them, and there's a nice closeup shot of the back of my head.
coastercrazed49 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Great pictures Will! Â I bet if submit that coat hanger to Arrow, they will gladly build it into another one of their masterpieces.
