Scaparri
So, this past week was finals week at Butler University, and to cap off the year, my girlfriend and I thought we hit up a Six Flags. The original plan was to go to Kentucky Krapdom, but I found out two weeks ago that our favorite band was playing a last minute scheduled show in St. Louis, so I surprised my girlfriend with tickets and we quickly changed plans to go to SFStL instead (which by the way, because we were from an "outer market", we got our season passes for $44.95!!). It turned out to be a weekend nothing short of amazing! Six Flags St. Louis I hadn't been to the park in five years, so I was looking forward to seeing how it has changed, and of course, getting some Mr. Freeze action. The park was dead!!! We walked on pretty much everything our first time around. The second time around (and we strolled the park pretty leisurely), the waits were about 5 minutes for everything, with about a 20 minute wait for Tony Hawk. One thing that was weird was that the park definitely didn't seem as large as it used to. It was very nice though. I enjoyed it much more than my last visit. As for the rides: Tony Hawk- I love these Gerstlauer spinners. I loved Timberland Twister at MOA and I loved this one. These things are just so much fun. They kick the crap out of any wild mouse or spinning mouse. I was pretty surprised where they put it though. Not where I was expecting. Screamin' Eagle- Running fairly well. A little bumpy, but it's a 31 year old wooden coaster. Always a classic. Ninja- The first ride we had in the front was pretty enjoyable, though still a little jerky. Later we gave the middle a shot and that sucked balls pretty hard. Lots of neck shots. I enjoy the ride, but I won't be too upset if they ever take it out. Batman- It really felt super intense this time around... like more super intense than it usually is. I haven't been that disoriented on a ride in a really long time. Boss- This ride makes me fairly sad. It was so amazing it's opening year, and though the ride is still crazy, its just become so rough. I'm going to put my foot down and say that if this coaster had Millennium Flyer style trains, it'd be an easy top ten woodie. Probably a top three or five for me. Its so long and so fast and so wild, but so rough. Mr. Freeze- I can't get enough of this ride. I think its just the top hat. Sweetest inversion ever? Its up there with the zero-g roll. Superman- One of the things about this ride that I had never seen before, was that they drop the cars at different times, about a second or two apart from each other in a circular motion. I really liked this freefall. If you are lucky enough to get on of the sides that faces out at the park, its sort of like a miniature Pitt Fall, in that, you feel like you're really high up, but obviously not quite like Pitt Fall. The next day, we checked out downtown St. Louis, and then went to the most amazing concert I've ever seen!! Listen to The Format!! They are incredible!! And to cap off the trip, we got to chat with Nate, the lead singer for a few minutes. This trip was an amazing end to the school year. These guys are amazing! Check them out!! Oh yeah, and we were front row and center for our favorite band, The Format!!! Laura is all, "Eh, the Arch isn't THAT big." I might have been a little overly excited for Lee's. I used to get this stuff all the time during my season of slavery at CP. Best fried chicken EVER! What!? They have Lee's in St. Louis?? Jackpot!!! Overall, it was an awesome day at Six Poles St. Louis. I love beer as much as the next person (well, maybe not Wally or Derek), but why hasn't Shapiro gotten rid of crap like this if he's trying to make Six Flags more family oriented? One more THBS shot for you Gerstlauer fanboys. Sylvester and I. Like my shirt BeemerBoy? People were freaking out because Bruce Springstein- The Ride decided to take an intermission. Rides that weren't there last time I was here. Bruce Springstein- The Ride Hot Mr. Freeze action and hot ferris wheel action going on at the same time! I bet you guys have never seen this pic before. That is what I am talking about... Heck yes. You could possibly say that I'm sort of a closet Premier fanboy. Marvin had the hots for Laura. He tried to get a feelsky. I'm going to throw this out there... Marvin the Martian is the coolest looking Looney Toon there is. This is the part where you make Homer Simpson drooling noises because you are going through such insane intenseness. "Hi, I'm Batman, and I actually have a fitting paint job instead of yellow and purple or purple and blue." The expression on Robin's face is actually his natural expression. Yeah, Robin isn't intimidating anybody. As you can see, the park was mad packed today. Its a fun looking ride! Too bad its only fun to ride in the front. Yeah...I don't know. Laura shows the Ninja her karate moves. It was time for some Vekoma goodness. Screamin' Eagle... yeah, its an old wooden coaster. Umm...its white. Umm... its old. And yeah, its fairly good. Up, up, and away I go... this was one of the better freefalls I've been on. My girlfriend, Laura, doesn't particularly like freefalls, so I did Superman on my own. On our way to Britannia, I ran into Foghorn Leghorn. He caught wind I was a TPR member, and suddenly it was on as I was avenging Robb. Mr. Freeze *Through a crapload of trees* Right across the way was this bizarre monstrosity that wasn't operating yet. Some hot helix action... For all you lift hill enthusiasts... They weren't processing season passes yet so we went ahead and jumped on Tony Hawk! Six Poles St. Louis In case you were wondering, the speed limit at SFStL is 14.9 mph. Again, that's 14.9 mph. St. Louie! Too bad the park is still another half hour away. The giant effing cross. What? Its the giant cross in Effingham, IL. Just a friendly reminder that everything in Michigan sucks... except Shivering Timbers. The new Colts stadium is going to be freakin' sweet! Though I'm a Bears fan. Good ole Indianapolis at 6:30 in the morning.

Airtime&Gravity
Great TR and photos. I love SFSTL, and with THBS it makes me want to go back even more. Xcalibur( the monstrosity) is really amazing to watch, and it is good to see Freeze open again as it has been closed whenever I visited.(well it broke down when I was in line one of the times) Airtime-Can't wait to go back this summer-&Gravity

CP_RULES
Exactly what day did you go? I went on Saturday (May 5) and it was PACKED! You really missed out on Ninja if you didn't ride in the very back seat, that's where it's the best. I don't know why you didn't like the Boss, though. It was kicking ass and taking names on Saturday, best ride I ever had on it! Only the helix was rough. Nice pictures and great TR.
Scaparri
Exactly what day did you go? I went on Saturday (May 5) and it was PACKED! You really missed out on Ninja if you didn't ride in the very back seat, that's where it's the best. I don't know why you didn't like the Boss, though. It was kicking a$$ and taking names on Saturday, best ride I ever had on it! Only the helix was rough. Nice pictures and great TR. I was there on Sunday the 6th. It was crazy how unpacked it was. Sundays usually aren't too bad though. I actually really like the Boss, its just a shame its as rough as it is. Yeah, it could be much worse, but it used to be so much better. Maybe I'm just becoming spoiled. I don't know. I agree though, its a great ride. And yeah, I guess I'll have to give the backseat of Ninja a try next time. crazydaveh
Great report, one question. Why did you ruin it by wearing a Gator shirt? GO DAWGS!
BeemerBoy
Like my shirt BeemerBoy? They've still got a long way to go to catch up to The U. On a positive note, you redeemed yourself a bit with "Bruce Springsteen: The Ride." Great report, man!
errtyme
Great TR! I'll hop on the "Premier Fanboy" bandwagon with you! haha, I love Freeze. Sundays early in the season are usually a good day to go. I noticed you have a ton of pictures with a lot of characters. The last couple vists I've had there were barely any; it's good to see good changes. ...the one shortcoming with your report though...BOO gators! Illini represent! hahaha. Clay "Marvin the Martian IS the coolest character!" Lamanske
Cameron
wow .. awesome report, thanks! Cameron. PS: I agree about Marvin, best cartoon character there is.
cfc
I'm going to blow up the Earth. It obstructs my view of Venus. Being disintegrated makes me very angry! Very angry, indeed! Two of the funniest cartoon moments ever!
Shockwave
Awesome photos Scott! SF St.Louis looks like one of the prettier Six Flags properties with all that foliage around.
terrancew_hod
Two things: 1) Only thing I'm scared of is Robin's dental work. His teeth are independent. Last time I've seen choppers like that, Roy Scheider stuck a gas can in it and shot at it! (that wasn't nice... i'm slapping my own hand... really!) 2) Lee Chicken... mmmm! I used to tear up a box of chicken gizzards smothered in hot sauce back in the day! When I visit the folks I'll have make a quick stop there.
