Peejay
Since it’s the Easter weekend, we got a couple of days off work, there was nothing better to do and the weather was nice, we decided to take a spontaneous trip to Phantasialand yesterday. For a holiday and good weather the park wasn’t too crowded. The longest we had to wait in line was about half an hour for Black Mamba. So that was quite alright. The rides we managed to go on were all pretty good, except for Temple of the Nighthawk. I think I’ve found my most boring ride ever, really pointless. So here are some photos. I hope you guys like them. A train going up the lifthill taken from the queue. I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures. Inclined Immelmann. Zero-G. A train in the loop taken from inside the loop. Vertical loop goodness. Deep in Africa with Black Mamba. Mystery Castle - home of an intamin drop ride. Little Epcot. A snail riding a duck??? I don't get it... That was a show called Living Nature. Pretty much a weird dressed lady standing there and spilling water all over the place... Now that's what I call a stoned guy... A blurry Winja in action. I liked Winja's Fear a little bit better than Winja's Force. The Tittle Tattle Tree in Wuze Town. The entrance to Wuze Town - home of the Winjas. 4-D-madness. Look, I've two heads on my shoulders. Just ignore the scary tongue man on the right. I like my left shoulder much better, too. Pirates in 4-D. If I recognized him correctly Leslie Nielsen starred in it. There was some bull riding going on, too. ...and a River Quest boat. This is River Quest. A river raft ride with a few surprises. I must admit - best Vekoma ride I know. Colorado Adventure - The Michael Jackson Thrill Ride. Chinatown and Hotel Ling Bao. Very nice. We called it the Brokeback incident... Since everything inside the park was still closed we decided to have a little breakfast first. Theming in progress. Talocan advertising. I hope the fire effects work properly after opening. I don't wanna leave the ride without eyebrows. Talocan construction. Future entrance of Talocan. A big dragon head has wrecked it a little bit already. The main entrance area with the fountain. Old Berlin and the Brandenburger Tor in the background. A really nice day starts.
ginzo
Thanks for the pics. This park is definitely on my to do list. Is David Hasselhoff still big in Germany? Maybe Phantasialand could have a "David Hasselhoff Thrill Ride" next. That would be much cooler (and less creepy) than a Jacko ride.
coastercrazed49
I laugh everytime I see the Michael Jackson Thrill Ride. Btw nice Trip Report. I need to get out there some time, Black Mamba looks awesome.
Disney Dood
Why is it called the Michael Jackson Thrill Ride: Colorado Adventure anyway? What do MJ and Colorado have in common? And Black Mamba is still looking good, as usual... Good TR!
coasterdude5
^ Yeah, I don't get it either. Great TR, there were some really impressive shots of Black Mamba.
CP_RULES
The theming in this park blows me away. Great pics!
Wishmaster
Why is it called the Michael Jackson Thrill Ride: Colorado Adventure anyway? What do MJ and Colorado have in common? He officially opened it. The ride was originally called Colorado Adventure but they changed it to Colorado Adventure: The Michael Jackson Thrill Ride about a month after it opened. Chris Benvenuto
Mystery Castle was such a weird ride, I couldn't understand it. It was fun though, I went here this past summer and I had a good time. Have to return though, missed the Temple credit, got the others.
Peejay
Is David Hasselhoff still big in Germany? Maybe Phantasialand could have a "David Hasselhoff Thrill Ride" next. That would be much cooler (and less creepy) than a Jacko ride. No, I don't think so. However, I'm not a big fan of his music. I haven't heard anything about him in years over here. But this is funny, on vacation last year in L. A., a tour guide asked me the excact same question. I guess nowadays you would find just older women in his audience. A K.I.T.T. ride would be cool though. Although, I think you could attract a lot more people with a Baywatch-themed ride Why is it called the Michael Jackson Thrill Ride: Colorado Adventure anyway? What do MJ and Colorado have in common? I agree with Wishmaster. The only thing I found was, that Michael Jackson inaugurated the ride in 1996. So I guess that's the only thing he has in common with Colorado Adventure. Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you guys liked the pics.
coastermaniac1
That park looks amazing. Does Black Mamba have SRQ or a fast past thing? Great pictures. Black Mamba looks amazing and the River Rapids look awesome. I want to ride them as much as I want to ride Black Mamba.

Chris Benvenuto
That park looks amazing. Does Black Mamba have SRQ or a fast past thing? The park has some type of system similar to Fastpass only if your a resort guest or something. When I was there I waited 2 hours for Black Mamba. and 90 minutes for River Quest, damn that was fun.....ArgH!! Sideway Drop!!
Fretless
You do not have to be staying at the resort to be able to get hold of a fastpass. Al you gotta do is ask at the ticket booths, i would say buy one of the website but you cant lol
bulldogmom
Great pics! Looks like a beautiful park. Love the theming. Black Mamba looks awesome. I can't believe they named a ride after Michael Jackson! (I could think of a million crude jokes to insert here). It looks like a good ride, though. And I love the Stoned Guy! unkadug
Great report ! ----- Maybe Micheal Jackson has dibbs on this ride for his backyard when the park shuts down.
cobra_roll06
Hey good TR! That place really does look great. I want to ride BM so bad just to see how it compares with Nemesis.
Benjidude
That park looks amazing. Does Black Mamba have SRQ or a fast past thing? The park has some type of system similar to Fastpass only if your a resort guest or something. Every guest can buy a pass that allows you to skip the line and go frontseat. You can do that 4 times, or with 2 people 2 times, or with 4 people once. It costs €15,00 and it also allows you to skip the line at the Winja's and a few more attractions. First I thought it was stupid and I said I'd never buy such a thing! But after my first ride of Black Mamba I was just like running to the shop where you buy the passes HERE you can check everything. Nice pictures by the way!
Guy T. Koepp
Phantasialand has to be the most awesome park I've never visited. Talocan looks awesome! I have never seen a flat ride with such awesome themeing. Is it going to be fully enclosed? I am so pissed that the mini euro trip is the exact week that I am moving to Tennessee. It falls 5 days after I am to end my summer concert tour and 5 days before I head off to Colorado for a two week gig. Damn you Alveys and your misguided approach to not planning your trips around my schedule! Just Kidding! Guy "I'm still pissed I can't go on that trip either. However Korea on the other hand may work out as it starts on my B-Day. Woo Hoo! Bird Flu here I come!" Koepp
Wishmaster
Phantasialand has to be the most awesome park I've never visited. Talocan looks awesome! I have never seen a flat ride with such awesome theming. Is it going to be fully enclosed? No, when it's finished it will look like this: The "roof" will be a little bigger, but other than that I haven't noticed any changes yet. On the bridge to Deep in Africa they have replaced the wall by a small steel fence so it's easier for people to watch the ride.
easytoremember
Ok, this is off topic, but since you saw the 4-d pirate show it reminded me of something I have been wondering about. In the 4-d pirate show at BGA, at the very end I think Rodney Dangerfield is in it. But it was a younger Rodney Dangerfield. How is that possible? Wishmaster
^^ Mostly make up, and the fact that the movie is 8 years old by now. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0198911/fullcredits#cast
roadhouse
Sorry but I cant believe that any park would call a ride the 'Michael Jackson thrill ride', when there's children using it. They should think again and change the name immediately! WAKO JAKO SICKO!
Chris Benvenuto
^ the ride was built before the molestation charges in 2004, Colorado Adventure was built in 2001, I believe. He gave me quite the ride, it was particuarly rough this time around. J/K!! But anyhow, I consider Phantasialand the German's idea of Disneyland, abd Europa Park their idea of WDW. Just my opinon
