socalMAN123 Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Hey all- Yesterday, I finally made my way up to SFMM to ride Tatsu and get my passes processed. Turns out, we got stuck on two rides in very odd ways. I'll let the pictures tell the story, hope you enjoy! ---Brent X, we didn't ride you today, but we will next time. As we were going down the elevator, the emergency exit door in the back popped open and the elevator stopped. We were stuck about 200 feet up for about 30 minutes. At least we got to go on Tatsu again! Superman has been dwarfed! Evil stairs of hot death! X and Viper! They both hurt! Yay! Tatsu from Sky Tower! Evil stupid Intamin Space Diver! Wow that's ghetto. You can basically walk under the ride. Here is Flashback. It is really sad and pathetic. It has been closed for a while. AH! Hot Arrow evil demon death machine! Yay, we got stuck on Superman! This picture was taken from about halfway down S:TE's track at about 15 MPH. The ride didn't accumulate enough power and it only shot us about a couple feet down the track before we started loosing speed. We waited there for a while, and finally the mag It felt so good inside the Fortress of Solitude! The air conditioning really helped with the 103 degree weather. Sadly, we can still see it. Wow, isn't this picture artsy. It is true that no one EVER takes this picture. OMG, the Canadian geese bought SFMM! They were seriously these birds everywhere, it seems like they had overrun the place. Poor Freefall, it is sad and pathetic like Thrill Shot. ...where the crew sucked. They had two trains on the track, but they kept sending this one empty. It happend about 5 or 6 times. Time to ride Jahan's old ride... Poor old sad and pathetic Thrill Shot. It's so lonley. It's time for the Vu! Yay, Tatsu! Some of the past, old, and newer landmarks of SFMM.
dandaman Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Your S:TE experience sounds pathetic. Thanks for the photos.
Jew Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Random fact: what you experienced on S:TE was most likely a drive trip. Long story short, the drive is what controls the LSM's, and when it loses track of the car, it will assume it is in the station. That's probably why you stopped. Oh, and I'm never going up the Sky Tower again.
coasterdude5 Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Great TR! Did you have to walk back to the station?
Hurricane Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 OMG!!! you had a S:TE Trip! yay incidently the seat you were sitting in is where i sit, every time i sit in that seat on Tower Of Terror it either trips or e-brakes (goes into the nice area behind the station) Seems like you had fun anyway!
socalMAN123 Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 ^^ After sitting there for about 10 minutes, the LSMs started to move us backward (I don't know how) and we got back in the station. I didn't bother to ride again until later. It was scarier to be stuck on Sky Tower. ---Brent
Hurricane Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 DIDN'T THEY LET YOU STAY ON!? whenever that happens at Dreamworld, they let you just stay on unless you want to get off, they just bring it back, re check the harnesses and off you go again! the funniest memory was when this happened, they sent us again, it did it again... then they tried for a 3rd time, the launch was fine, i can't say the same for the brakes, we ended up in the famed BOG AREA. So i was happpy, we then had to wait to be winched out, then we had to wait at the exit for them to test it, and we were on our way again, then it had another Drive Trip, so i gave up on that... Um... the magnetic polarity would have been reversed i think, to pull the car back, it makes a awesome WHOOOSH VROOOOM noise when it does it. It only takes about 30 secs for it to reverse at Dreamworld, thats cause the op's are allowed to do it, instead of calling maintenence to do it. I somehow think our version is a bit more reliable though. 6 Secs of pure airtime is fine by me anyday, along with alot of speed!
Wes Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Isn't SFMM built on an indian burial ground? That's why Shapiro wants to sell it, he HATES spooks.
Token Yankee Guy Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 I got a question, what is with the closed off stairwell on the sky tower?
SharkTums Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 It leads to the outdoor observation deck which is closed.
