jedimaster1227 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) http://www.whatsonxiamen.com/news28682.html Construction phase I of Huaqiang Science and Technology Industrial Park, also known as ‘Fantawild Theme Park’, a high-tech theme park invested by Shenzhen Huaqiang Holdings Limited in Xiamen’s northern Tong’an District, is coming to an end. The park is expected to open to the public by the 2013 Spring Festival. Located in the Tong’an New Town, the Huaqiang Science and Technology Industrial Park boasts a total investment of 5 billion yuan and will cover a vast area of 880,000 square meters. It will be composed of a culture and technology industrial base, a culture and technology experience zone, two culture and technology theme parks (Fantawild Happy World and Fantawild Dreamland) and other supporting projects. The Huaqiang project is expected to become a new tourist destination in Xiamen upon its completion and greatly encourage tourism development in the less-developed Tong’an District. Tong’an has become one of the hot spots for investment in recent years thanks to the city’s efforts to boost development in mainland districts. To date, China Electronic Technology Corporation and many other R & D institutions have settled down in the district. The development of high-end hotels and real estate projects is also in full swing. Brief Introduction of Tong’an Fantawild Theme Park At the south of the Tong’an Fantawild Theme Park, there will be a small-sized roller coaster for children; along with a large roller coaster designed for adults located in the north of the park. It is believed that the roller coaster will be the highest in mainland China, with the highest point 40 meters, in comparison with the roller coaster in Shenzhen Happy Valley. In addition to the roller coaster, there will be many more fun rides, such as the Flying Space Shuttle, Speed Windmills, Escaping Dinosaur Island, and Harry Potter, with some featuring Chinese traditional culture such as Uproar in Heaven(大闹天宫) and Nezha Conquers the Dragon King(哪吒闹海). For film lovers, there will be an IMAX 3D movie theatre and a 360 degree-screen movie theatre, and some large-scale theatres such as Monkey King Theatre, Ghost Stories Theatre, and Terra-Cotta Warriors Theatre. cfc Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 According to rcdb, at least they're getting a real Vekoma Boomerang and an actual Skyloop.
gisco Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 In addition to the roller coaster, there will be many more fun rides, such as the Flying Space Shuttle, Speed Windmills, Escaping Dinosaur Island, and Harry Potter, with some featuring Chinese traditional culture such as Uproar in Heaven(大闹天宫) and Nezha Conquers the Dragon King(哪吒闹海). Think they actually licensed this?
cfc Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 ^My money is on "no," but stranger things have happened.
jedimaster1227 Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 ^I'm pretty sure Universal holds exclusivity rights through Warner Bros. that prevent this property from being used in any other theme parks... But copyright certainly hasn't stopped these parks from moving forward, has it?
