IronWolfman Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Looks like Six Flags needs a lesson from Scarywood: http://www.rollercoasteralley.com/news10.16.12_Scarywood2012_Page1.php
narkitty Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 SUPER AWESOME IRON RATTLER UPDATE! Dropped by the La Cantera parking lot tonight to check on the progress and then proceeded to explode with happiness. The first new track piece is in place along with a lot of new wood. Apologies for the mediocre pictures. Taking iPhone pictures at sunset isn't exactly the best. New track piece and brand new wood! Wood missing on the first drop.
3Mutts Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Yes! That track looks very nice (more of a red than in the video).
Voxelmatic Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 They've already started installing track? This is going way too fast for a Six Flags ride! But the new Iron Horse track looks fantastic. Thanks for the update!
ArizonaGuy Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Nice! Thanks for the update. I will agree....the track does look like a brighter orange than what I thought it would be but hey.....I'm just happy that this make over is taking place. I can't wait to see work started on the first drop. Anyone have anymore information or updates from inside the park? Any thing else going on close to the station that they could see from RoadRunner Express??? It was pointed out earlier that the area around Wagon Wheel was fenced off......but hasn't that been for the entire season or is that new???
ernierocker Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks for the photos! Looks like we will be able to get some good angles on construction during the off season. Can't wait to ride this thing next year!
vacoaster09 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I love the orange track against the brown wood!
narkitty Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Thanks for the photos! Looks like we will be able to get some good angles on construction during the off season. Can't wait to ride this thing next year! The best places I've found to take pictures are from La Cantera, the Crackaxle Canyon train station and from the actual train itself. I always park in front of Neiman Marcus and walk across to the grass to get good shots of the helix area. I wish there was a better place to take pictures of the lift hill/tunnel area.
Mrlittle Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 ^ Sweet , thanks for the update. I can't wait to ride this one next year.
coastercrutchfield Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Not really related to anything, but I just uploaded a new offride video of Skyscreamer today
ArizonaGuy Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 I'm sure it'll be more impressive when they start working on the first drop.
3Mutts Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 The track really pops! Can't wait to see more progress.
Erik Johnson Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I am really lookin forward to this coaster, though I am not sure when I will be able to make it back to Texas,
SFOverTexasFan Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Iron Rattler looks like its going to be very awesome. I can tell you Rockey Mountain did a great job renovating New Texas Giant, and I expect this coaster to be just as good, maybe even a little better. Don't know yet thought, I cant wait to ride it!
jray21 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It's really starting to look great! Even if it's a 1/4 as good as it looks, it's still better than what it used to be!
SFOGdude25 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Holy cow, they're going fast! Can't wait to see more!
Hilltopper39 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 ^You'll probably won't be the only one....... Edit ^You'll probably WILL be the only one.......
A.J. Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 D'aww, look at the tiny little overbanks! They're so cee-ute!
Ed Farmer Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Digging on the low perpendicular to the ground sections that look like they'll be buried inside the support structure.
DJeXeL Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 They really picked up the pace on this! After riding NTAG this summer, I'm tempted to go back to Texas......
ernierocker Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Looking good! Are those apartments in the background in this photo: If so, someone needs to go sign a lease today.
