larrygator
Here's an interesting article from the Orlando Sentinel. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/the-daily-disney/os-disney-haunted-mansion-for-sale-20121002,0,5588934.story Twin of Disney's original Haunted Mansion for sale If you've always wanted to move into the Haunted Mansion at Disney, here's your chance. Theme Park Connection, the theme-park memorabilia reseller in Winter Garden, is selling its largest piece of Disneyana ever: a 10,000-square-foot home constructed to look just like the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. The seven-bedroom, six-bathroom house is in a gated community in Duluth, Ga., more than 2,000 miles away from the original in Anaheim, Calif. Owner and designer Mark Hurt, a contractor, had the home built in 1996. "He got permission from someone at Disney over at Disneyland to actually walk the attraction outside and measure it to get the exact detail of the house," said Marc Pianko, owner of Theme Park Connection. A replica plaque at the entrance gate reads "The Haunted Mansion." The goal was to re-create the attraction's exterior, a Southern-style structure with columns, as might be found in New Orleans. (By contrast, the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom represents an older, gothic style.) The interior of Hurt's house is contemporary and less themed, except for one bathroom that's home to a variation of the "hitchhiking ghost" scene of the Haunted Mansion attraction. Hurt has lived in the home with his wife and son, and he said there is no evidence that the structure is truly haunted. Asking price for the home is $873,000. "We researched it, and this is the only house in the world where someone actually spent the money to model it after a Disney attraction," Pianko said. The sales arrangement was made after Hurt became a customer of Theme Park Connection. "It was a perfect match for both of us," Pianko said. His 8,000-square-foot warehouse, open to the public, holds an array of collectibles from Walt Disney World and other theme parks, ranging from souvenir buttons to cast-member costumes to stage props to ride vehicles. Hurt is selling the home, Pianko said, because he's moving on to other projects, including a home in Hawaii fashioned after Disney's Grand Californian resort. No tours are available of the Georgia house. Only real estate agents and prequalified buyers will be able to make appointments to see the home Edited October 4, 2012 by larrygator

BeemerBoy
I just wonder who will buy it. Probably someone with $873,000 who's looking for a seven-bedroom, six-bathroom house in a gated community in Duluth, Ga....and might also be a Disney fan. cfc
Did anyone watch the video of the "special bathroom" in the house? Your guests will be either amused or repulsed by this feature.
MayTheGForceBeWithYou
^There'd better be a way to turn that off. It would get annoying really fast.

MayTheGForceBeWithYou
^If hearing the Ghost Host yell that while sitting there didn't make you go, nothing will.
triggernel
It would be more soothing than anything. I'd love Paul Frees to narrate my throne time.
David H
I imagine that Disney wouldn't have any big problems with people putting this in their private home. But once he's selling it for a profit, I wonder if he'll be getting contacted by their lawyers soon. Then again, maybe they'll allow it for all of the free publicity? But it does set a bad legal precedent, if they let it go.
