Turbine was/is my favorite shuttle... and the only one to beat out Greezed Lightnin.
Everything after GL was substantially farther down on the list.

Now with BOTH these coasters reopening in 2013, I sometimes have a difficult time believing it's not all just a dream.

I also have a soft spot for Turbine as it was my first Schwarzkopf ever. I rode it with some heavy coastered enthusiasts who told me its flywheel launch was the strongest ever, but they also found that the brakes on the way back were applied a tad too much, preventing the train from climbing very high on the back spike, unfortunately. Maybe they'll tweak the ride so it goes high on both ends now ?

Hearing the news that Sirocco/Turbine will be reborn/re-invented has added a little bit of joy to the year, making this the second Flywheel shuttle loop restoration worldwide in 2013.

And I don't know why the neighbours complain so much about it... I mean, i'd pay good money to buy a house where I could hear the sound of "CLUNKZZZZHHHHHEEEEEEWONK" every 75 seconds or so... I'd have no problem with it at all.

Crazy neighbours just don't get it!

WHAT???? The time I rode it, it ran just like Greezed Lightnin' did: with no brakes on the way back AT ALL. That was the main reason that those two models were so much better than the others IMHO. I'm completely bummed to hear that they were braking it when you rode it and I hope that there are no plans to ever do that again.

Ditto with me and that little beach house nestled in the crook of Boardwalk Bullet.

They once interviewed the person who owned that house on "How the States Were Shaped" and it didn't seem like he minded. Though, I think he would have trouble selling his house.

Anyways, wouldn't a partially enclosed tube would work, like on California Screamin' since if the noise is directed to the amusement park, the neighbors wouldn't care.

I've actually thought about approaching SFoG and buying the land in the middle of the MindBender... and building a house with a wrap-around porch/deck...

The re-themed park trains.

One is themed to rock, the other to pop. Each train has its own soundtrack and station... and only stops in that station.
So unfortunately you can't use the train to get to the other side of the park anymore.

And a little update on Turbine... lots of painting going on:
