Things to do while queuing at theme parks!

... I was just wondering if there was anything that anyone else does while queuing ...

^I tend to do that when I am queuing by myself either that or clean up trash. It passes the time.

I like to take pictures if the queue has views of the ride. Also, I talk to my friends and sometimes the people in front or behind me. It makes the line go a lot faster.

This seems to be the most logical option. However, if you are at a park alone, an iPod is a great diversion. I have 25 back episodes of the podcast "This American Life". The stories are always interesting. And, at an hour an episode, waiting in line when I solo it to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (my home park) is no big deal. Oh yeah, watching "scenery" is also a useful way to pass the time as well...

Off topic a bit but I personally don't mind the queues. It's part of the theme park experience.

I typically just chat, people watch, and and crack jokes to make it interesting. I think an amusement park is actually one of the few places where I feel better without music playing. I see people listening to music and it almost feels like they've lost connection with their groups.

I don't mind the queues if the rides are run reasonably and I'm with friends. I hate doing it when I'm alone.
