Thank God Sony designed something other than a computer. I'm a little confused about the idea of seven controllers. I mean, c'mon, 7? It's a good number for fairy tales but not for splitting the TV screen.

Looks great, looks like that will be the system I'll be getting. The only thing I don't like is how they changed the controller. Since the Dual Analog controller was released in 1997, the controller has remained almost the same except for the rumble in the Dual Shock and the pressure sensetive buttons in the Dual Shock 2. After over 7 years of using the same controller setup for PS1 and PS2, I think it will be difficult to get used to something new. The fact that it plays PS1 game and PS2 games is great. I use my PS2 to play my PS1 games all the time, especially my Japanese PS2 since I still am getting Japanese PS1 games (thanks to Konami for not releasing any of those cool Bemani music games in the US besides DDR), so I know I'll play PS1 and PS2 games on the PS3.

Yeah, a cooler shinier version of the Turbo Duo ...

Bonus: If you throw the controller at the TV it will come back and hit you in the head!

This looks like a killer system. Again, I won't rush out and get one, waiting at least a year for a good number of games to come out for it.

That's going to be the perfect controller to heave at the cat when he's acting up, and then it returns to your hands so you can continue with the hot hooker ganking action in GTA 4: Kill More Stuff...

The specifications are quite impressive, but the processor for the xbox is still more powerful - it contains more cells than the new Sony console - but if I can afford - I'm still having both

I can't wait to get my hands on a Ps3, the only problem I have with the Ps3 is the controller looks wired. I can't see myself getting use to the controller. Other than the controller I think the Ps3 is going to be the best game system EVER.

The mic (read : controller) looks very much like the old Microsoft Sidewinder Pro for the PC.

i showed the controler pic to a few women i work with. Their reactions said it all: They are going for the female audience. A couple of my coworkers said they had 'devices' that looked quite similar to the ps3 controler.

Very nice. I've loved both the PS and PS2, so I'll definitely look into getting one of these once the time is right. I agree with Meteornotes, when a new system comes out, it's best to wait a year or two before actually getting it.

when does it come out? I know in the US they release things earlier than in the UK.

I wonder if they will make RCT for it, since they did for Xbox. And I wonder what the new DDR games will be like. The graphics will probably be amazing.

The advantage sony will always have over xbox is the games.. ps2 has way better games..
