Hey all,

My fiance and I will be honeymooning at WDW in September 2006 and I need some advice. What are the best days to visit each park? I know there's sort of a formula as to which day certain parks are busiest based on travel habits. Essentially, we'll be arriving on a Monday early afternoon and checking out on Sunday morning. We are staying on property and we will have a car as this is just part of the honeymoon.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well homey, since you're staying on property, the best thing I can tell you is go off of the "Extra Magic Hour" schedule. Essentially, the time you're going the places won't be too full, and you are on your honeymoon, so take it easy and have some time to do other stuff (while you can!)

You should need only a few hours at certain parks, so when the time gets closer and the schedule is released for that time, a good rule of thumb is:

1 full day at MK

1 day split, start at AK, then to either MGM or Epcot

1 day start at MGM, then to Epcot

1 day start at Epcot, end at MK

This way you'll be able to run to all the popular rides without waiting at the beginning of the day. The most popular rides will be:

Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, and the always awesome dark dark Dinosaur! The Rapids shouldn't be too bad in the morning either.

Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space (in that order) at Epcot

Run to Tower, grab a fastpass, ride it, then head over to RnRC, then use your ToT fastpass.

MK is just a clusterF. I usually start out with Big Thunder, then Splash and work my way back thru Adventureland. However, if you want to do Fantasyland stuff, start there first, as the lines will be lightest at the beginning of the day.

You know from our last trip (with Grampy ) how quick you can be done with AK. Please also be sure to eat at lots of the hotel restaurants, my favorites being Boma at AKL, California Grill at Contemp, Artist's Point at Wilderness Lodge, and Spoodles and OF COURSE Big River Brewing at Boardwalk.

You guys are going to have a great time. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with you, but seeing how I'll be in Germany, all storms will most likely be trying to get to me. You know I'd be there to interrupt your fun if I wasn't eating pretzels and drinking beers across the pond!

We went last Sept. and there was nobody there!!!! I dont think that it matters which day you do which park at that time of year. The longest line was for test track and that was under 10 min! We had a lot of re-rides all week long. It was all great until a hurricane shut everything down, but since they shut down the park early one day, they gave us an extra day on our passes!

My wife and I got engaged at epcot, thats kind of on the opposite end from honeymoon, and we go back every year!

As Derek mentioned, when the trip gets closer and the park's schedules are released, more specific tips can be given.

In the meantime, I'd consider this a list of the "must do" attractions (not neccessarily because they're all great, but more to get the "total" experience). Given that you are on a honeymoon, multiple nights strolling the world showcase at night is a must. The place just screams romance. Plus, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is still the best nightime spectacular anywhere, even after many viewings.

It'll also be plenty warm to enjoy either (or both) of the resort's waterparks. I have yet to do either, so I can't give you tips there.

As someone else has said, you should definitley take advantage of the extra magic hours specifically for resort guests. This way you can probably ride twice as many rides compared to if you didn't use the extra magic hours...it's a huge advantage. September is usually a relatively empty time of the year at WDW anyway, so you should be able to ride and see everything you plan to. The great thing about Disney parks is that, even if you don't ride many attractions, there is so much else to see and do. Make sure you check out these rides if you can:

Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom)

Thunder Mountain (Magic Kingdom)

Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom)

Rock 'N' Rollercoaster (MGM)

Tower of Terror (MGM)

Test Track (Epcot)

Disnosaur! (Animal Kingdom)

Expedition Everest (Animal Kingom)

If there is ever a day when you are at Magic Kingom while it is very busy, be sure to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (which is a blue monorail-typed ride which towers over Tomorrowland and never usually has more than a 10 minute queue, even on the busiest of days). This probably has to be the most underrated ride in the Magic Kingdom...it gives you a tour of almost everything in Tomorrowland, including a great view INSIDE Space Mountain.

Here are some new rides at WDW which, IMO, are quite a waste of time(except if you have got a lot of time to spend). (Biggest waste of time first, least waste of time last):

Stitch! (Same as the ride it replaced, just new theming)

Mission: Space

Soarin'

I'm not suggesting that these rides are terrible, but they are just not as good as I would have expected.

Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are also great water parks which shouldn't be missed.

You'll have a fantastic time! There's no doubt about that!
