How Old Are You & What Was Your 1st Coaster?

Now that the forums have been around for a couple of weeks, and we've gotten 400 members, I've noticed a vast age range on the boards so far.

Everything from 12 years to 50 seems to be represented! I'm actually really impressed! It's a good mix!

Anyway, please vote for your age range and tell us what the first coaster you remember riding was!

As for my 1st coaster I remember riding. It was either Big Bend at SFOT in 1976 or Space Mountain in 1977.

I hit the wrong button and voted for 12-15, and while mentally the age is correct, physically it is incorrect, I'm 29

Anyway, the first coaster I ever was on is the Giant Dipper at the SCBB. I would say that was in approx 1985 maybe 86

I am missing that coaster, good thing the park is year round, when I go visit family I will have to ride it again

I'm sure I rode little kiddie dragon coasters that are always at fairs and stuff, but the first actual big roller coaster was the Tornado at Adventureland in Altoona, Iowa. I remember going up the lift hill an being scared. Although I went on a few other coasters that day. I don't really know how old I was but I'm guessing about 7. Now I have ridden the Tornado probably about 100 times.

I won't count Disneyland because I can't give an exact date/age.

First time to Magic Mountain was 1985, my 7th birthday, Revolution. After riding it today, it is hard to remember how great this roller coaster was before the OTSRs.

-My first coaster was "Big thunder mountain" at EuroDisney in 1992 and my first looping coaster, in 1993, "Goudurix" at Parc Astérix (not a torture machine like today )

and my first coaster was Vampire (old trains) at Cwoa, when i was 7.. although my first looping coaster was Indiana Jones (back when it was forwards) at Disneyland Paris back in 1999

35 (for the next 2 weeks anyway).

First coaster was Corkscrew at Alton Towers in the year it opened. Must have been 11 at the time. Hope they never tear it down. :?

Flashback at Six Flags Over Texas. I believe that, as a kid, I suffered a traumatic Vekoma head injury, and it has messed me up to the point of right now.

First rollercoaster I went on was the now defunct Space Race at Adventure Island, Southend. I was only 9!

Im 15, anyways, my first coaster was probably BTMR at WDW when I was 5.

If you are adding the first looping coaster, that would be the demon at paramount (at the time marriots) Great America

I have ridden it many times and currently I would say it bores me

I'm 12 and the first coaster I remember riding was Matterhorn at Disneyland. Great ride. Beautiful drops. Ok speed.

19:) My first "real" coaster was Python in Efteling in 1998. I had tried some kiddie coasters before that, but no-one I realy remember.

Mine was Matterhorn. I don't remember when though probably between 5-7. I remember I had a great time on it!

I'm 25 right now. My first coaster ride was back in 1984 when I was 3. It was the Flitzer on Morey's Pier, rode it with my grandmother. Traumatized me for years. I wouldn't step foot on another coaster until Big Thunder Mountain at WDW in 1988.

First looping coaster was Sidewinder at Hersheypark in 1991, followed by my first wooden coaster, Comet at Hersheypark. Ah the memories....

I'm 19. My first coaster was the Beastie at PKI in about 1988 or '89. Though I was only 3 or 4, I remember a slight amount about that trip. I remember being taken on a coaster and being so scared 'cause I felt like I was 300 ft about the ground. Later in life, I identified this coaster as the Beastie.

I am 25.

On my first real coaster I can remember I was 9 years old. I rode Big Lopp - Heide Park in 1989. After the 1st ride I was so scared but after the 2nd ride it was fun.

I would say I was 3 or 4 for my first non-power coasters.. I was on loopers when I was 5-6 years old.

I turned 20 the day the forums opened.

My first "Big coaster" was Grizzly @ PGA but being as it sucked, I try to ignore that fact and count Giant Dipper @ Santa Cruz as my first. Technically, my real first coaster would have been the Blue Streak/Green Slime Mine Car/Run Away Reptar @ PGA.

Maybe my age is showing but i couldnt tell you what my first roller coaster ride was. I know it was at the old Dandelion Park in Muskego Wisc. and believe it was a ride called Wildd Mouse and that this took place in the late 1960's/eaqrly 1970's.

A rider later was killed on this ride and it wasnt long that this park was closed for good.

My first coaster with inversions was Corkscrew at Knott's. I think I was 8.
