John Peck
My wife, Carrie and I visited the park on Sunday Aug 24, 2014 and last year on Sunday Aug 11, 2013, so I thought I would show the progress the park has made as it tries to hold on. In the comparison shots, the photos on your left are from 2013 and the ones on the right are this year. The park offered a $5 ride EVERYTHING pass yesterday, so many started turning out later in the day. We had a long ride home, so we stayed until about 5. Blue Streak ran full-loads while we were there, and I took 3 rides on her. If I uploaded this right, The first photos should be the comparison, and the others will be single shots from yesterday. Enjoy! 2013/2014 Welcome to Conneaut lake! 13/14 Old Ferris Wheel Footers 13/14 Tilt was operational again 13/14 13/14 This ran great! 13/14 Blue Streak! 13/14 Music Express torn apart (it wasn't running in 13 either) 13/14 Winnie Witches Cauldrons! 13/14 Trabant! 13/14 13/14 This building was originally a fun house, then the building was used for the "Ultimate Trip, an Indoor Scrambler) The roof soon caved in and the building was in bad shape, so they finally cleaned up the debris. 13/14 Behind the previous building stated above 13/14 The Ballroom was torched a few years ago. 13/14 Pretty! 13/14 Inside the hotel with wifey! 13/14 I love this hotel. WFChris
That was definitely unique...I guess I didn't realize how run down Conneaut Lake is. Looks kinda scary and weird actually...is this just the pics or is that true?

kidcoaster 2
That was definitely unique...I guess I didn't realize how run down Conneaut Lake is. Looks kinda scary and weird actually...is this just the pics or is that true? Sadly it's true. Example, before playing Mini-Golf Saturday our group got a spiel from the attendant about not disturbing the many spider webs on course or the spiders themselves and that us "City Slickers" shouldn't come back to him whining and complaining about the water and sludge in the holes. Seriously it was gross. Our group ended up scoring based on the closes one to the hole rather than in it. You would think there would at least be a shopvac somewhere on property. Some of the areas looked nice though like some of the area at the front of the park (Besides rusted rides) and the hotel area but it doesn't hide the bad areas of the park nor the many closed rides. I want the park to go on but after my last visit I don't have the hope for it that I used to.
SFOG1991
Thanks for the pictures! I visited Conneaut Lake Park about a month ago and had an excellent time. They have been barely hanging on for decades. At this point I don't even really blame them, and they are doing the best that they can considering the deep hole they are in. The park setting is gorgeous (even with the run down aspects), the staff is very friendly and invested in the park, they have a handful of great rides and Blue Streak is amazing especially in the front of the last car. So much airtime on those drops! I suggest everyone read into the history of the park and the problems they are facing, and support them. The park itself is great and has gem rides. I would love to see them thrive... I just hope they don't get closed down.
SFOG1991
Awesome report! That park needs new owners. The park is owned by a public board of trustees. The old trustees didn't do their job, and new trustees were brought in to replace them this year. They have done a better job so far but unless an outside investor steps in, there isn't much they can do other than try their best to maintain the property and operations while taking steps to avoid the tax sale of the property (Unless they come up with a million dollars they basically need to file for bankruptcy to avoid the tax sale). katt
It's a bright red compared to 2014's bright orange. Other then that they are the same from what I've seen other then color and saying 2014 and 2015 on the front.
