Photo TR: Paultons Park (25-7-14)

Recommended Posts

Recently I once again took a visit to Paultons Park which is the UK home of Peppa Pig world. This trip was a little different to my previous trip as I was also filming some sexy POVs for TPR!

The park was once again fantastic and I can't praise it enough. I really have nothing bad to say about the park and it was only emphasised more by the trip I took to Legoland the next day which was just god awful.

Paultons is what I would call the perfect definition of a family park. Almost every single ride at this park the whole family can enjoy and there is even a few thrill rides for the slightly older kids to enjoy. The park just seems to do everything right whether thats from the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff or to how beautiful and well maintained the park is. This park just seems to get better with each trip. Its easy to see the park is investing in its future as they have only this year opened a fantastic new entrance complex and are currently in the process of building new park offices. I believe that this is only the start of what is to come and the future looks fantastic.

I could go on for ages and ages about how much I like this park but I know a lot of you are bursting at the seams to view the photos and video so here they are!

Paultons_1.thumb.jpg.ceafbc89a4340382a70525f0bac67829.jpg

When we arrived at the park we got our first glimpse at the new entrance complex! Doesn't it look fantastic!

Paultons_2.thumb.jpg.42a9d91a70eae49f43630d6139761c3b.jpg

The park were very kind enough to take us over to Cobra before the park opened so we could film.

Paultons_3.thumb.jpg.b5aaea7fd8f978108dca61afa9f8bd5a.jpg

I personally love the trains on this ride.

Paultons_4.thumb.jpg.6f643c14b4e0a09793b6ab6893a5ef60.jpg

OMG lift hill shot! Nerds rejoyce!

Paultons_5.thumb.jpg.25ef00b21bea6d6e2ad0b6643bf009ec.jpg

Geronimoooooooooo

Paultons_6.thumb.jpg.b94e3db2ce50c036816a62be35b3a98b.jpg

This ride is a custom Gerstlauer bobsled and I believe the only custom one in the country.

Paultons_7.thumb.jpg.4607b8f117691200dc52b7b93f89039e.jpg

The ride is still running like glass which considering it opened in 2006 is fantastic

Paultons_8.thumb.jpg.28775b7999b2378356ca376830fd83b8.jpg

Who need take the tunnel when you can take the shed!

Paultons_9.thumb.jpg.c635a891c5776b651aa644cdccaa6ea5.jpg

The ride is really just all about fun and who doesn't like to have fun?

Paultons_10.thumb.jpg.59d3960e9aaf63c85f386585ba886be4.jpg

Here you can see the parks 2 biggest rides. Cobra and Edge.

Paultons_11.thumb.jpg.d618ba633334e06d02cd19e811e11d86.jpg

Once filming was complete the park was now open and we left Cobra to explore the rest of the park.

Paultons_12.thumb.jpg.61e160010b7094391e52e41cffe31eaf.jpg

The next logical ride to go to was the parks Disko Coaster "Edge". The park was so pleased with the footage on Cobra they allowed me to also film this.

Paultons_13.thumb.jpg.5db8a3753755f153f19bc772192b3dac.jpg

This is one of the better Diskos I have been on as it doesn't have the usual bump and shuffle I experience on these.

Paultons_14.thumb.jpg.e58cb7aad915d8fccbe235c258db207d.jpg

The ride doesn't really have much in the way of a theme but the park make sure to keep everything well maintained around the ride and looking fabulous.

Paultons_15.thumb.jpg.fb33149c6a1f20e25c197494c12f7fb6.jpg

The park does have one more "big" ride in the form of Magma

Paultons_16.thumb.jpg.245d9372ac4cf6c30d3cee1336e43a15.jpg

It is a really fun tower ride. Im not to sure on the make or model of this ride because I'm not a super nerd but it still is a lot of fun.

Paultons_17.thumb.jpg.5590aa59295762c9a5f5dacea2d8b381.jpg

Did I also mention we got to POV this also? We do spoil you don't we!

Paultons_18.thumb.jpg.9167d10c6a209394f97affb840bdd3ea.jpg

This was definitely needed today as it was super hot and my body likes to burn.

Paultons_19.thumb.jpg.9d2646b48bb1871b64d8bc9c3ec4b3b9.jpg

Oh look a log flume! What does this remind me off?

Paultons_20.thumb.jpg.80f69dc3ec81d4eac2c2e57f77946fa1.jpg

Oh thats right "WE ARE ON A LOG FLUME!"

Paultons_21.thumb.jpg.d25b117c387eefb5cf8ffdec8d7420ed.jpg

The parks new ride for this year was the "Double-Decker Victorian Carousel"

Paultons_22.thumb.jpg.3fa1863d7cea217efc78c36a7cf6a50c.jpg

It is themed around a Victorian circus and has many tree sculptures depicting various circus acts.

Paultons_23.thumb.jpg.53cf29654370e0dcb6edde19a1eb17cd.jpg

It is located next to one of my favourite walkthrough attractions.

Paultons_24.thumb.jpg.8cdd3dd0f9348117ffff79db5507bda0.jpg

It consists of many models telling the story of The Wind in the Willows.

Paultons_25.thumb.jpg.b2e32197d47bee56cbf77e42768315f0.jpg

The attraction is very dark but all the models are very detailed.

Paultons_26.thumb.jpg.1c677edadb484cf798209b3d7bba4cbf.jpg

I wasn't sleeping at all because guess what! Thats right there is a POV and here it is

[youtu_be]

[/youtu_be]

Paultons_27.thumb.jpg.3077c53f352f409a1b0063a003a80b1c.jpg

The park also has a 4D theatre which is a hell of a lot better than Angry Turds 4D at Thorpe Park!

Paultons_28.thumb.jpg.672a119ef4477f972288ca8b2af59685.jpg

They have changed the movie for this year to Robin Hood. I personally hadn't seen this film before so didn't know what too expect. I was pleasantly surprised by it I have to say but it was odd that when the characters spoke their lips didn't move. If the park are looking at changing the film every year I would love to see them get Pirates 4D at some point.

Paultons_29.thumb.jpg.d67d4750147bdebaa7b483e55ce7eef7.jpg

The pre show before the movie is themed to a classic cinema foyer.

Paultons_30.thumb.jpg.3ab54ff51f645d4efaba64328b97bbfa.jpg

The pre show is good and allows them to batch very nicely but I did get the feeling it should only be used on peak days.

Paultons_31.thumb.jpg.22af462d44964c486a7177b63975852b.jpg

Covered areas like this were all over the park along with an insane amount of benches which was fantastic for someone like me who likes to sit down a lot.

Paultons_32.thumb.jpg.e52776ea3a10c3e5d54a23d5a84bb63a.jpg

After an already fun packed day it was time for lunch.

Paultons_33.thumb.jpg.64ee24c1266c543ee5f2834aa6109788.jpg

So much like last year I had this FANTASTIC burger. The park seem to nail their food perfectly its not badly priced and tastes really good for theme park food.

Paultons_34.thumb.jpg.ac22b98c3a7640ba57b7ce43c113a771.jpg

Where ever you look at this park it always looks fantastic and well maintained.

Paultons_35.thumb.jpg.ada44118a822401cc13953287eecbcc9.jpg

and proof of how well maintained the park is this. The trees in this ride area were being trimmed, cut, shaped etc while the ride was still in operation. There was no lock off for the landscaping team they just used this amazing thing called COMMON SENSE so when the ride started up they stood out of the way of the ride in the safe zones and continued their work in there until the ride cycle finished.

Paultons_36.thumb.jpg.3f669efd0bc8e8a5e8dbc54206a22183.jpg

This chairswing had the most couple/double seats on one ride I have ever seen and it was great to see that parents could ride with their small children with out an extended wait time.

Paultons_37.thumb.jpg.8e5e1b07e30ac5786dd05ed3ad2c2a37.jpg

SELFIE!!!!!

Paultons_38.thumb.jpg.f24152a6c1764a3eb4a5a3bb0dce51cc.jpg

The season pass prices I don't think are too bad considering the park does do a lot of events over winter.

Paultons_39.thumb.jpg.bd17ca4673dffc5e0efd741d22ad00c2.jpg

More parks need shade like this, sometimes its nice to just sit down and relax.

Paultons_40.thumb.jpg.b3bd4a9348c178f3f6249adf3884e1c9.jpg

As this is a family park you would expect a Wacky Worm but no they went one better and got this fun little Zierer Tivoli.

Paultons_41.thumb.jpg.c1bdd38068d3fb9e5781c0f196cd0849.jpg

I took this picture just for Thad!

Paultons_42.thumb.jpg.98647a2b983cba25b9bb20a4e0e403f3.jpg

Look no barriers at a railroad crossing. Whys that you ask? Well its simple, visitors to this park have a higher level of intelligence than those who visit somewhere like Thorpe Park.

Paultons_43.thumb.jpg.952f1b278107176ed7a55c8a7d0e2dc5.jpg

To go with the recent investments the park are currently restoring their 19th century Watermill at the cost of £50,000!!

Paultons_44.thumb.jpg.c06e1e3e1fe456c5c6619a58bef3fb15.jpg

I am always happy to see historic building be restored like this and can't wait to see the final product.

Paultons_45.thumb.jpg.d8a21d9084526dc773d94342b2a6d89f.jpg

Arrrrrrrrggghhhhhhhh im a pirate!!

Paultons_46.thumb.jpg.3f179f9bddfcdb13d50e977736c7dce1.jpg

Why can't more parks do things like this? They make the park look fantastic and are so much nicer to look at that shipping containers *cough*MERLIN*cough*

Paultons_47.thumb.jpg.bafa255b02809ec9524d88fb332799cd.jpg

The main attraction at Paultons for most visitors is Peppa Pig World! This is the ONLY one of its kind in the world and KT was very jealous that I went without her.

Paultons_48.thumb.jpg.42c1fea64ebae9de00216baa4c2e52ce.jpg

Awww you are offered a big hug as you enter into Peppa's world.

Paultons_49.thumb.jpg.27c81b88039d8457226aa8a44d396eca.jpg

You can take hot air ballon rides

Paultons_50.thumb.jpg.3d5a20484567dc2d5771ff5a1ed86d00.jpg

or fly up into the cloud in Peppa Pig World. There really is so much to do here.

Paultons_51.thumb.jpg.768827ed9c88d71bc4fb9680e60f6515.jpg

How about visiting Grandpa Pig?

Paultons_52.thumb.jpg.0794e82a51ac9fa5b2d29090e674a8d1.jpg

Or going to school?!? Don't worry this is a good school as its picture day and you can have your picture taken in here with Peppa, George and a whole host of other characters from the show.

Paultons_53.thumb.jpg.6c0799907005cf02b1f71f71bb118195.jpg

That is some skilful parking there

Paultons_54.thumb.jpg.a75af75e9a30494ef8d8b04f2898e9d7.jpg

There is a huge shop full of Peppa Pig merchandise which sort of creeped me out.

Paultons_55.thumb.jpg.b3d208e36fe8ae3d044a7a669c05ede4.jpg

If you break down on the way to the park don't worry as they are on hand with a tow truck.

Paultons_56.thumb.jpg.38fd01a89ea4bb9f9dc9509f0a2a240b.jpg

I can only apologise for this picture as I know many people get far too excited over a picture of transfer tracks.

Paultons_57.thumb.jpg.cb64ed8d162f9f06f5dbf032c5e1eac6.jpg

I saw bikes much like this all round the park and being ridden by park staff to get around. No one got hit and everyone moved out the way when they saw them coming. I call that another victory for common sense.

Paultons_58.thumb.jpg.87d05987118896874392f998dfe7bdc1.jpg

The poor duck got confused and was trying to chase the 3 yellow ones.

Paultons_59.thumb.jpg.d85050177c9e4b65024ed61b343bb610.jpg

This is George's Dinosaur Adventure! Lets hope he doesn't eat you.

Paultons_60.thumb.jpg.f804a25863c57afd1aab51f9be11513e.jpg

When KT saw this picture she got very mad at me.

Paultons_61.thumb.jpg.fb07435ac8b81ee683d3618ad71fba3c.jpg

The park are going for the environmentally friendly approach with their new building which is great too see.

Paultons_62.thumb.jpg.b4ccb8d9ac41e47e4703729614be576d.jpg

They have styled the offices much like the new entrance so everyone looks nice and consistent and blends in well.

Paultons_63.thumb.jpg.443e27ea1dedd93cd7919644bcc89cc1.jpg

Sadly it did come time to leave later in the day so we went and took one final look inside the parks new entrance complex.

Paultons_64.thumb.jpg.b3de230496ddf6d72283ba313827159b.jpg

The parks main restaurant is located inside the building

Paultons_65.thumb.jpg.fefec9aa8aba421a0e5c9b6010293f1e.jpg

and reminded me a bit of Peppa Pig world with trees like this.

Paultons_66.thumb.jpg.f4aacc28269011f3177246c6156f1ac6.jpg

It also has "The Big Toy Shop" which you need to walk through to leave the park.

Paultons_67.thumb.jpg.2e83b781534976d385bc7aac91602ad3.jpg

This Dragon looks in a LOT better shape than the one at Legoland

Paultons_68.thumb.jpg.f4c35e2baef06a9548cbd2a5b33c3315.jpg

"I can see you!"

Paultons_69.thumb.jpg.ac14d3752819051516832c3f3406daa1.jpg

With how hot it was that day on park I could have really done with some rain

Paultons_70.thumb.jpg.a67c58dce5b598d26abd647fea2dea8a.jpg

No matter where I am I will always hunt out something Frozen orientated as I need my daily Elsa fix.

Paultons_71.thumb.jpg.a30936cfa0ce555399d2bd907e0eeb87.jpg

Oh god I hope there are no terrible Bronys around here!

Paultons_72.thumb.jpg.6062ed458904192444fec7ad623429c1.jpg

"Its like a little baby Unicorn"

Paultons_73.thumb.jpg.9ace37ebb94d9288e9c34addd0beb5de.jpg

This hate is a hat themed around me!

Paultons_74.thumb.jpg.8e850441ec256ce8f0237f21227a7f03.jpg

There was this lovely fountain sculpture outside the entrance which I really wanted to jump in to cool down!

Paultons_75.thumb.jpg.e4b5a37e451828157323374cc2c14a24.jpg

Sadly all things come to an end and I had to say goodbye to the park. I had a fantastic trip and can't praise the park high enough for how helpful they were and I look forward to my next visit very soon.

I hope you enjoyed this TR and look forward to more POVs from the park coming soon.

Nice little park! Not something especially pressing to go out of the way for, but certainly looks like a place to have a fun day. Cobra looks like a fun Wild Mouse variant, too!

It is a great place to have a fun day but is most definitely a place thats designed to be a family day out. If you are just looking for coasters and thrills this isn't really the park for you.

I will be interested to see what attractions they add over the next few years, I would love to see a fun style dark ride installed!

Build a dark water ride - VALHALLA 2 !

You could never build anything compared to the epicness of Valhalla! A Bubbleworks style dark boat ride though would suit the park perfectly.

On another note here is a new POV for you all from the park. This is a POV of the parks log flume "Raging River Ride"
