Since Scott (Beemerboy) already did a DDD report, mine will not be as expansive. My overall thoughts on the ride are that it is a very smooth, quiet, fun ride. The lap bars are a great addition as OTSR's on Eurofighters can be a little rough and headbanging. The barrel roll and the drop were my favorite parts as they had lots of air/hang time. I also love that each train has different logos on the front and wings. Great addition! I got a total of ten rides on media day. Also grabbed a few rides on Goliath since they had it open for us. There was a buffet and a grab bag at the end as we were leaving that had lots of little surprises in it for us. Thank you Brad and SFOG for inviting us!
My review:
First sitting in the seats it felt just like a regular eurofighter seat. Next thing you know the lap bars are coming down by themselves. I was surprised by this as none of the others do that. They are pneumatic lap bars like on NTAG. You can pull them down and wherever they stop is where they are locked. They come by to make sure you are in nice and tight. We roll out of the station and to the lift. The chain starts rolling and up we go. At the top we throw our hands in the air and as you go over the drop it is slowed by some magnetic brakes and then releases immediately and you get some major airtime. You drop and fly through the fire ringy dingy ding-a-ling dings with mist and up into the dive loop. It whips to the right and you hang upside down for a minute before plunging down and up into the turn. Before you know it you are dropping again and into the immelman turn. It is hard to say this is an inversion when you don't really get all the way upside down, but none the less. Then you head into the MCBR which is only a quick pause. You dive to the left, up over a small hill and then to the right into the mist filled tunnel. As you exit the tunnel you go into the barrel roll and it is pure hang time. Probably the best part on the ride as you are TOTALLY hanging on the lap bar. You exit the barrel roll and do a small dip before entering the final brakes.
My overall impression of this ride is a very good one. Smooth, quiet, fun, good air, nice inversions and plenty of hang time. The only other eurofighter I have ridden is Mystery Mine. As far as theming I give the edge to MM but for ride experience I give the edge to DDD. This is easily SFOG's 2nd or 3rd best coaster under Goliath and Mindbender.
I hope you enjoyed my report...onto the pictures...which I know you came here for anyway...
