Photo TR: Derek goes to Germany

Postby DerekRx » Sat Sep 23, 2006 8:24 am

So here I am in Germany. Originally I was going to do a big honkin trip, with loads of parks and beer, but because work wanted to send me to some conference, I had to cut the trip short to just Oktoberfest in Munich and a few days before. (of course, I ended up not going to said conference!)

So, day 1 was just wandering around Frankfurt. Had I known that passport customs was so freaking easy here, I could have easily visited Holiday Park, but because I figured it was pure havok like in London, I figured I wouldn't be free until at least an hour later. Sadly, no Holiday Park this year for me :(

So here's all the good cultural stuff that I took in while I roamed around Frankfurt today. Don't worry, Phantasialand is tomorrow!

Day One - Arrival in Germany (see below)
Day Two - Phantasialand and Black Mamba!
Day Three - Even MORE Phantasialand!
Day Four - Oktoberfest including Olympia Looping!

Man, I am gonna love this. Just bought the 'Germany for Dummies' book to learn more about getting around there for a future trip I'm planning. Is it really that easy to get around over there?

I think you love beer just as much as I do!

Looking at those pics brings back fond memories of when I was stationed near Frankfurt. The only thing I am wondering is no RDL pics. Figured you would atleast walk through it. It is an interesting tourist attraction.

Dude, I laughed so hard at the Test Track reference!

Hmm, so a McDonalds next to a Gummi Store...could that possibly be heaven for Robb and I!??!?! How close was that picture of GeForce, that would solidify it!

Be safe and have a great time!

Don't forget to take LOTS of pictures of the Scwarzkopfs for Joe!

Derek, that is NOT the Rhein River!!! That is the Main River, (pronounced mine). The Rhein does not flow through Frankfurt. Look at a map.

Interesting German fact. Because Frankfurt has the tallest building in Germany, (that "funny skyscraper"), German's have nicknamed the city "Main-hattan", (cuz of the MAIN river, which runs through the city.)
