Disney's Hollywood Studios, Australia (Google Sketchup)

Over the past few months I have been developing a version of 'Disney's Hollywood Studios' using Sketchup. Now, it's not based on a real park, but some of the facades, rides and attractions are based on actual creations in various Disney parks around the world.

Thoughts?

(BTW, the park is still 'under construction', so please keep that in mind when commenting on certain facades/areas)

Now THIS is what I want to be able to do with Sketchup.

I can't wait for more! Great concept, I love it so far. Kind of like a "bite sized" Disney park.

This amazes me, you must have quite a lot of time to do this on SketchUp. And the concept of making a compact, 'abridged' Disney park is, in my opinion, quite novel!

Outstanding job with the graphics and arrangements of your 'theoretical' park- If I were an investor, I'd definitely be taking notice- as it's easily worth the attention to detail you have placed in it.

(My only complaint is about who you've got on the "Rock and Coaster" ride... Use ANYBODY (Barry Manilow, or Wayne Newton, or Milli Vanilli... but PLEASE- get rid of No Doubt...)

Keep up the good work- I really want to see how this park turns out!

Amazing work! How long have you been at this?

My only real complaint is that everything follows a grid...change the way ToT faces maybe, I think it'll make it look more 'Disney.' Or possible make the intersecting street not quite perpendicular, maybe a 70 degree angle, just something to break it up a bit.

I love what you already have, though!

This is great why don;t you make it on Rct3?

Drawing at angles like 70 degrees are a tad harder. It's do able, but on a ride like Tower of Terror, it'd become a lot more work.

The reason I wanted to use Sketchup over RCT was that I could actually design facades and not have to 'place' items/objects to construct buildings and facades. Sketchup gives you 500% more freedom.

I've been working on this park for a few months. I normally open it up and do a bit of work each day.

Here are some updated photos of the project. I have finished the area near the ToT entrance, and am starting work on the actual tower. The lift doors will open to allow riders to see out.

It lags like crap right? I have great memories with Sketchup. Some of my models got front page actually.

Check out models by scotchtape and scotch designing industries. I made them when i was a bit younger

Really? Really now? Dude, this is fantastic! The attention to detail is outstanding. Can't wait to see more--when it's ready--i don't like to rush anyone when it comes to something creative.

Thanks! I've redesigned some of the themeing. Does this look better? If so, I'll continue with this design on the other sides and then add the windows (a big task!).

I'm really enjoying this project. The tower looks great, I love all the cracks and details.

I have done A LOT of work to the park in the last few months. The entrance has been expanded, I have redesigned the Tower of Terror and am also working on a stunt show to replace one of the old sound stages.

Thoughts? If you'd like to see detailed shots of any attractions, let me know. I have redesigned and added to a lot of the facades.

It's been ages since I have posted an update, so here it is. I have done A LOT of work since my last update.

I believe this is the first time I've checked out this park and I absolutely love it. The theming and detail all around is great.

...this wants me to learn Sketchup, so bad.

Like, take a bunch of courses on it. This makes using AutoCAD look even slower than it already is.

Looks brilliant, awesome park and not too unrealistic for Australia (e.g not a huge park with a million rides).
