Love the additions on Aquatopia! I didn't realize they had done that. KT is dying to know, did you happen to catch any Ocean Sunfish in the Nemo ride, queue, preshow, anything? He's in the movie for about 5 seconds and she's holding out hope that he'll show up!

It was difficult to document inside as the cast try to keep photography and videography to a minimum but I do believe I remember seeing the silhouette of the ocean sunfish on the back wall (I'm not 100% but I believe I pointed it out when we were there). It isn't pictured here but there are silhouettes on both sides of the queue. I also vaguely remember seeing the animated silhouette of one in the preshow... I don't want to promise anything since it has been so many months since I saw it first hand but I do believe she'd be pleasantly surprised one way or another at least in the queue. I don't remember seeing anything like it during the ride though.

I love your seeking out, and finding those little 'extras' in Disney themeing, as only Disney can do it.

And Oriental Land Co.

Great ongoing TR, Adam! Glad to see you had such a great time, there.

(And yes, my last visit there ~2013~ I lamented the extreme lack of original

Japan ToT merchandise, compared to the previous two visits there. Sad,

but at least, the little Shiriki Utundu on a chain is still selling. Got mine in 2011.)

These pictures are amazing!! I never even saw the Cape Cod section before, there's too much beauty to keep track of! I recently moved to Japan and live an hour away from TDR, but I haven't gone yet because I'm saving up for an annual passport. This trip report is torture. A few weeks ago I was riding the train home at night and I had to fight the urge to get off at Maihama Station when I heard the small world jingle.

^I’d tell you to get out to these parks as soon as you can! If you’re going to be living as close as you are, it makes sense to go as much as possible thanks to all of the different events throughout the year... Waiting just means less time to experience it all!

The Cape Cod "hill" is one of my favourite go-to quiet spots in the park. I'm sure a lot of gp think that

the lighthouse is just theming, and not an actual spot you can go up to, sit down, and just relax for awhile.

I'll be here for at least 18 months, so I'll be able to make it to all the seasonal events and I definitely don't want to miss out on Easter, Tanabata Days, Pirates Summer, Halloween, or Christmas! Once I get the pass I'll probably be at the resort 2 or 3 times each month

just tryin to be a responsible adult and get my finances in order before i splurge 93,000 yen (about $840), at the same time i totally get your argument and might squeeze in a quick visit beforehand

I definitely plan to relax there, especially if it's a busy day!! I'll let you know when I visit!

Our final day at the Tokyo Disney Resort was spent at Tokyo Disneyland...

The way the Western River Railroad weaves through the park is very different than the railroads found in the other Disney parks.

52.thumb.JPG.fa81a4533792356240d05ee4037e009c.JPG

But it was a pleasant surprise to find the Primeval World Diorama recreated here just like it is found in Disneyland.

We loved Tokyo's Jungle Cruise!

55.thumb.JPG.8d38867940a30e5d33dc60af48160370.JPG

We went back and rode Big Thunder Mountain several more times before the end of the day.

56.thumb.JPG.65c293d6c98f828952b4fc794dc79a8d.JPG

The new Camp Woodchuck Kitchen features waffle sandwiches and this one didn't disappoint!

57.thumb.JPG.3b062b3570e757ece5d12c5efcec2f3e.JPG

Did I mention I love this castle?

58.thumb.JPG.cf2b029c7fab4d2624ffca4b3cadb893.JPG

Tokyo's Tomorrowland featured the vintage Star Jets. The closed permanently only a few months after our visit to make way for an expanded Fantasyland, Toontown and Tomorrowland.

In case you were wondering what the menu at a standard Tokyo Disneyland quick service venue is like.

No Sonny Eclipse here.

62.thumb.JPG.442a53395e5c7e589ee2e35172417d87.JPG

Sadly we didn't get to ride during our visit but it was neat to see.

63.thumb.JPG.0cd162deb3afbca731a03096e4cb951b.JPG

I don't remember the Star Jets when they operated in Florida, so it was nice to see something so differently themed when compared to the modern Astro Orbiter.

64.thumb.JPG.47decb8749b41bb1c1f96fb355e87126.JPG

And we're moving on...

65.thumb.JPG.a7e74f1c48251e2085a165e4e4747ae1.JPG

The walls were already up along a portion of Tomorrowland and Toontown to allow for the ongoing expansion work to continue.

66.thumb.JPG.d996e69eab8ee64b2a5ec53226996905.JPG

Sadly Space Mountain was not open during our visit.

67.thumb.JPG.97d4d692f439afb3eae854d1e27319cc.JPG

More unique performers throughout the park!

68.thumb.JPG.ffc21aa6c939071359cd0dbfdada2b10.JPG

The classic Tomorrowland aesthetic is completed by the more modern paint job. I'd be totally ok with this setup being brought back to Florida.

Time to see Dreamlights one more time!

70.thumb.JPG.4bd1fea16a4f0054ed5b1e881ee56ef4.JPG

The floats are insanely impressive...

71.thumb.JPG.937066a80f950b02e93dd6533f2703ca.JPG

And they can do cool things like this!

72.thumb.JPG.b5cd4916946f9c015f693138a2f8eb75.JPG

You can tell which floats have been refreshed recently.

73.thumb.JPG.ceef19e98f2e823b924d21598a855407.JPG

I love this Pete's Dragon float way more than the one that ran with the original Main Street Electrical Parade.

74.thumb.JPG.0ebbc571f560d05d856afd01ed05ecc7.JPG

The Genie still has the most impressive float of the parade.

75.thumb.JPG.bdebfc551d79d9db21d3335a96c36fad.JPG

So many forms.

76.thumb.JPG.5d66ef1a3e9ab90b653b99302b6370f1.JPG

So many characters.

77.thumb.JPG.4c022f883307aa8e2069e5c0baab4df8.JPG

Even a nod to the original character design concept when the Genie was green instead of blue.

A newer float...

Another newer float.

80.thumb.JPG.7c7ceba21b4a558d7f003fbe1aee96d4.JPG

The finale of Dreamlights is overwhelmingly beautiful.

81.thumb.JPG.de10a2e595f3720888053ca1edec4a7b.JPG

The river boat float starts in black & white and transforms into full color along the parade route.
