Margaritaville Grand Opening- Universal City Walk Hollywood!

Postby fatdaddy » Wed Apr 05, 2017 9:00 am

TPR was invited to the grand opening of the brand new Margaritaville at Universal Studios Hollywood's City Walk, including a live performance from the man himself Jimmy Buffet. We started the night with a quick run through of the new restaurant/bar which has awesome tropical theming, if you want the feel of eating that "Cheeseburger in Paradise", then this is the place. The 5 o'clock Somewhere Bar has a great selection of Margaritaville Spirits, not to mention LandShark beer. Many tropical drinks on the menu, of course the Margarita's were something special. The menu is far from average, with everything from jambalaya, to nachos. I found myself wanting to go back just based on the menu options, but the theming makes it that much more attractive. I will definitely be heading back to CityWalk for another visit to Margaritaville soon.

Jimmy Buffett put on a great performance of hits that I'm sure everyone knows, including of course, Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise. A great show, great food, great drink, great new restaurant!

Great coverage!

I'm not a Jimmy Buffet fan, but I actually thought the restaurant was pretty decent for a "gimmick/celebrity" place.

Why do I still have a donkey title???

^ Is that a water bottle? What a**hole was drinking water?

I actually caught a little bit of the live-stream on Jimmy's Facebook page, trust me when I say that I'm incredibly jealous.

The restaurant (of course) looks great, and Jimmy is outstanding in concert. We saw him in Jones Beach last year and were blown away.

PS: Hey Robb, I know you sometimes put out posts asking if there's anyone that can represent TPR at certain media events that you can't personally make it to. Generally they're on weekdays so I never volunteered but if Jimmy ever graces us with another Margaritaville opening at a theme park on the east coast and you're tempted to make a post asking if anyone would be interested in drinking Margaritas and Landshark at a live Jimmy Buffett concert just know that I'll be willing to be a team player and step up. I'll take one for the team and go. You know... for the good of TPR. ;)

PPS: I'll happily wear a parrot on my head if necessary.

You're first on the list when the Margaritaville American Dream Meadowlands opens up! ;)

   Outstanding. Jimmy is already 70 years old so I don't see this going well, but in this case I might have to head over to the job site with a hammer and offer my services.

... then again there won't be anybody there for my to offer them to

I've gone pantless!

I've enjoyed some good meals at the Orlando location, where they did make a very good Margarita. I imagine the new Hollywood restaurant will be a hit, too.

So many reporters were just tasting drinks and leaving them. I saw a waitress with a full tray of throw away drinks! There were a lot of drinks to sample, but I just couldn't bring myself to leave a perfectly good (some very good) drink. All drinks were finished, no water was consumed.
