Great photos and review! I was interested to hear how Mack's version of the Mega Lite turned out and glad to hear it's a home run.

Thanks! Indeed, Alpina Blitz is a fantastic coaster. Granted, I haven't ridden the Intamin version yet. But if it is anything close to Mack's version, then I am sure it will be another superb ride!

Nice report!

Nigloland looks like a beautiful park and the Mack "mega-lite" and the (crazily high) drop tower look like tons of fun!

Thank you! Nigloland is a very beautiful park, much more beautiful than I expected it to be. Yes, they are a lot of fun! Alpina Blitz and Donjon de l'Extrême are clearly the best rides in the park.

This park is more extensive than I thought, yet we don't hear much about it on TPR. Thanks for the report and the photos.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read this report. Great collection of rides and adorably well themed for a park you don't here about too often. Nice report and awesome photos!

Exactly! I do not understand why we don't hear more of this park. It is for sure one of the better parks that I have done, and I enjoyed it very much.

And you're welcome! I really enjoy making trip reports.

It is indeed very well themed!

Thank you!

Wow, Nigloland looks fantastic! Glad you had a good time there, and I'm especially glad you shared it with us. I didn't know much about Nigloland previously, but it definitely looks like the sort of place I would really love. Thanks!

Thank you!

I also didn't know much about this park before my visit, except of course for Alpina Blitz. But it definitely exceeded my expectations.

Thanks so much for sharing your pix and info on a park that I knew very little about.

And kudos to you for a very artistically angled shot of the giant Ferris Wheel!

Thank you very much! I am glad you enjoyed it.

Movie Park Germany (Star Trek: Operation Enterprise) - September 2017

Hello everyone!

On September 16th 2017, I finally found some time to visit Movie Park Germany this year, to check out their brand new Mack Mega Coaster - Star Trek: Operation Enterprise. I absolutely love Blue Fire, Alpina Blitz and Helix, so my expactations for this ride were pretty high. During my visit the park was extremely crowded, resulting in queue times of 60+ minutes for almost every ride. Somehow, I still managed to get 3 rides on ST:OE; one in the front and two in the back. The back seat is definitely my favourite, because of how high you twist on the vertical spike and the great airtime that you get. The front seat has the better hangtime, though. So what are my thoughts?

Well, as I said before, my expactations were very high. And guess what, it exceeded all of them! This coaster is awesome from start to finish! Granted, it is not the most intense coaster in the world, nor are the launches the most powerful out there. But this coaster doesn't need that. Would it have been better if it was more intense? Probably. But I don't mind. This ride is just pure fun, and that is what it is all about. The vertical spike in the back seat is just nuts! The hangtime in the inversions is awesome, and I really looove hangtime! Also, there is some great airtime in the back, better than I expected. Of course, the ride is butter smooth and the trains are as comfy as they can get - like every Mack Mega Coaster. The theming was very well done. I absolutely love complete experiences, and Operation Enterprise is a great example of that.

Final Score: 8,5/10

I would rank Star Trek: Operation Enterprise just outside of my top 10. I still prefer Blue Fire, Helix and Alpina Blitz over this one. Overall, it's a fantastic ride and the addition this park really needed!

Here are some pictures that I took.

Wow! Thanks for the report. Mack has been on quite a roll lately, and I'm looking forward to riding this. It has changed the park's skyline for the better.

You're welcome. Exactly! Mack is one of my favourite manufacturers, and this new coaster confirms that once again. Operation Enterprise really does change the park's skyline. And hopefully, it will also help the park to get the gate figures, because this place really deserves it!

I can ride it all day long.

If I had a dollar for every time . . .

But, in all seriousness. . . Thanks for the review of the new coaster. It looks beautiful, and you got some great shots!! Thanks for sharing!!

First of all, great review and photos! But I'm going offer a dissenting opinion. I visited Movie Park for the first time this August and I honestly thought Star Trek was the tamest, weakest, most disappointing new coaster of this scale since Dorney Park's Hydra. I'll agree with JordyC that back row on the back spike and first hill are the two best parts. After that I felt the train simply traveled too slowly for anything else in the layout to deliver. This new trend of slow, forward-backward launches really bothers me as it negates the whole point of a launch to begin with: sudden acceleration. The whole middle portion from the reverse flying snake dive to the cammelbacks felt awkward with no significant positive forces or airtime. I wasn't impressed with the theming or Federation Plaza either. I applaud Movie Park for trying and I realize this was done on less than a Europa/Phantasialand budget, but all of it felt extremely cheap.

Movie Park has a few good rides like Van Helsing, High Fall, and the best standard Frisbee I've seen, but I just don't understand what some of its fans see in the place. I went to 10 parks across Germany and The Netherlands on this trip and Movie Park is the only one I don't think I'll ever go back to. At least when it comes to Star Trek, most people seem to like it. I thought Blue Fire was not just slightly better, but significantly. If I gave that coaster an 8/10 I might give Star Trek a 6.

Nice report! Were you able to check out the rest of the park? From what I've seen, Van Helsing's Factory and the Nick area look really well done.

Thanks! And yes, I was indeed. It wasn't my first time at this park, so I already experienced all the other rides during my previous visits. Because the park was very busy, I wasn't able to do everything that day, but I still did all the major rides and attractions.

Van Helsing's Factory is a very good coaster with fantastic theming. It is my second favourite ride at the park, after Operation Enterprise of course. And Nick Land is a very nicely themed family area, with some enjoyable family attractions.

I can ride it all day long.

If I had a dollar for every time . . .

Then just don't ride Bandit, because you would give money for not have to ride it again.

But, in all seriousness. . . Thanks for the review of the new coaster. It looks beautiful, and you got some great shots!! Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for the kind words!

Thanks! You are right about the fact that it is not the most forceful coaster out there. But I don't rate coasters only in terms of intensity. I look at the complete package, the overall experience. And in my opinion, that is exactly what this ride does very well. The theming isn't up there with Europa, Disney or Phantasialand, but I would not call it cheap by any means. I mean, you have got 3 (!) pre-shows before you even enter the station. And actually, I really like these multiple launches. The backwards launch up the vertical spike is amazing! And I agree with you that it is rather slow in some places, but that will make sure you get the awesome hangtime in the inversions, which I really like.

Movie Park has a few good rides like Van Helsing, High Fall, and the best standard Frisbee I've seen, but I just don't understand what some of its fans see in the place. I have heard some very different reviews from Movie Park Germany. Some seems to like it, others don't. I think it is a good, solid park. It is nowhere near my favourite theme parks, but it is still a park I would like to visit every 1-2 years or so. And now even more with Operation Enterprise! They have an awesome indoor coaster, one of the best Gyro Drop Towers, a fantastic stunt show and some great water rides, and all of them are fantastic overall experiences. But after all, everyone has their own opinion. And that is what makes it all very interesting! For example, I would give Blue Fire a 9,5/10.

Phantasialand Wintertraum - November 2017

Hello everyone!

On November 27th 2017, I visited Phantasialand during their Wintertraum event. It was my first ever time at "the best winter event in Germany". Phantasialand is one of my favourite parks, and I was very excited to discover how they transformed the park into a winter wonderland.

Phantasialand is home to much more than just awesomely themed rides. During Wintertraum, this is no difference. Aside from all of the non-water rides and Chiapas being open (yes, you can ride the best log flume in Europe during winter!), there are awesome stage shows, a beautiful ice skating rink, a fantastic projection and fire show and to end the day a not-so-great dance show with some decent fireworks.

The crowds were very light, which resulted in a walk-on for every single ride. The longest I've waited that day was to enter the parking lot, because the woman in front of me didn't had cash with her to pay the parking ticket. Anyway, I was shocked that even Taron, that normally always has a bit of a queue during quiet days, was at most a station wait. But hey, you don't hear me complaining.

Because I had plenty of time, I decided to watch one of their Christmas stage shows; 5 vor Weihnachten (5 before Christmas). It is pretty much your standard storyline about everything going wrong during the preparations of Christmas. It was a good show, with some great acrobatics and a few funny moments. A Christmas angel was live singing during the show, and while I don't know much about singing, I could definitely tell that it did not sound like an angel.. But it was a good, solid performance.

It was not allowed to make any pictures from the shows, including the two outdoor shows Tiempo de Fuego and The Magic Rose - Spirit of Light. So, I apologize for the lack op photos from both shows. Words can't describe how good The Magic Rose - Spirit of Light was, but numbers can: 3/10. The story was incoherent and the dancing was just bad. The actors were waiting for applause a few times after their tricks, but it remained completely silent. The highlight of the show, and probably the only reason to watch it, was without a doubt the light show and the fireworks at the end. Honestly, it is just sad to see a show like this at a park like Phantasialand.

How disappointing The Magic Rose - Spirit of Light was, how fantastic Tiempo de Fuego was. Tiempo de Fuego is an amazing projection and fire show in the Mexican themed area with beautiful Chiapas in the foreground. The projections had a very good quality, but what made this show really stand out was the awesome fire show! Seriously, there was so much fire. And let's be honest, everybody loves fire. Tiempo de Fuego is definitely one of the best shows I have seen.

It is still one of my favourite parks -- Welcome in Phantasialand Wintertraum!

Maus au Chocolat is a great interactive dark ride. It has a good balance between screens and real theming. Operating the shooter is a serious workout, though.

Phantasialand is such a beautiful park. They do random bits of theming with so much detail, and that is what makes this park so fantastic.

The least you can say about Hollywood Tour is that it is a unique dark ride. I still ride it once every visit, because you never know if it is going to be your last chance to ride. Same goes for Temple of the Nighthawk.

Next up, Black Mamba.

It has incredible theming, it has the G's and it waves through itself. All of this makes Black Mamba my favourite Invert!

Yes, you can walk through Black Mamba's loop.

Monster at Walygator Parc is probably more intense than Black Mamba, but Black Mamba is better in every other way.

The Jr. Immelmann is the only part during the ride where you can take a breath.

The corkscrews are also very snappy.

This is where the projection and fire show will take place tonight.

Even more Christmas baubles.

DSC_0687.thumb.JPG.f0d4660c8ca4a2746871063c2a3c94f8.JPG

The Mexican themed area is my favourite area in the park, closely followed by Klugheim.

DSC_0691.thumb.JPG.7857bdf7aedc9466b39780116dd004b1.JPG

Chiapas finally got the entrance it deserved.

It is winter, it is cold and it is raining. But that doesn't stop me from riding the best log flume in Europe!

DSC_0688.thumb.JPG.4097e6cf7ad3184643f9d0e7d0601af9.JPG

The only negative thing I can say about Chiapas are the uncomfortable lap bars.

DSC_0690.thumb.JPG.5d505a6b2e855eb806645c14f302ada0.JPG

Also, Chiapas theme song will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Colorado Adventure is the park's mine train coaster.

DSC_0696.thumb.JPG.c25b3272dc98f30e00d60ae55053222a.JPG

Once again, it has fantastic theming. The ride itself is very long (that's a good thing), the indoor sections are pitch black (that's also a good thing) and it has some good airtime (that's a very good thing). It is my second favourite mine train, after BTM of course.

The Chinese themed area always looks beautiful.

Did I already mention that there are a lot of Christmas baubles around the park?

Mystery Castle is a fantastic indoor drop tower. And because it was a quiet day, I had the long cycle.

Can you guess where I am?

DSC_0733.thumb.JPG.baff9e918c2371288fe3ac9204814169.JPG

I am at Klugheim!

DSC_0714.thumb.JPG.229880ca98859eb9b6d318890b0d1751.JPG

It was my first time experiencing Klugheim in the dark. And it looks even better at night than during daytime!

Raik is the park's Junior Boomerang. The ride itself is okay, but the theming is once again fantastic.

It is actually surprisingly forcefull for a family coaster.

Of course, the main star of Klugheim is Taron.

DSC_0710.thumb.JPG.349e977bf764674fcb1963de6ce0d7c8.JPG

Taron has a bit of everything, and that is why I like it so much.

DSC_0724.thumb.JPG.6671a4b4dcc2bfd59b000c0822dc98e5.JPG

The rockwork is just insane!

I always had a hard time choosing my favourite between Taron and Helix (my numbers 2 and 3). But after riding Taron in the dark, I can now safely say that I prefer Taron over Helix, just slightly though. They both have a bit of everything, and that is why I like them so much.

There is a great variation in quick transitions and airtime.

DSC_0722.thumb.JPG.7c46abd2445494fdb9f98f5c2cb5430c.JPG

Taron is intense, but not as intense as for example Black Mamba. But that makes it very rerideable.

DSC_0726.thumb.JPG.7c573afe7746e48558a9b134bbfb6612.JPG

Taron is very twisty!

Night falls over Klugheim.

Taron flies through Kornmüller.

In Klugheim, it is also Christmas.

DSC_0739.thumb.JPG.54ab0b86184360e1324145ce7a69c4c3.JPG

All of Klugheim looks amazing.

DSC_0745.thumb.JPG.a1160a91346a645e3a0dc5ff55db9ba7.JPG

I love the mystic feel of Klugheim.

DSC_0746.thumb.JPG.88488fe8c270ad85e7943665c6c7133a.JPG

You will fly past this waterfall after the second launch.

DSC_0727.thumb.JPG.f8ec67ca5bffbd5747fc0b3d533fd8b5.JPG

At night, Klugheim really has that mysterious feel to it.

DSC_0748.thumb.JPG.4d369cdd39a681eb35953f1979c17477.JPG

The first launch is pretty powerful. But it is the second launch that will blow you away!

DSC_0749.thumb.JPG.cf961a479fe995b0da4f7fcf01d5ffe3.JPG

It looks stunning at night!

DSC_0751.thumb.JPG.f0773dac348ea799642138c91836cf72.JPG

They also have this ice dragon, that spits fire out of his mouth every couple minutes.

Yes, we are still in Germany.

DSC_0754.thumb.JPG.e0e8e54897483f6c9e14d4d79c907286.JPG

Everything looks so well done.

A sky full of stars.

DSC_0762.thumb.JPG.d4b1bc5f9eaab55bfb5c9e278e128e46.JPG

Remember the Christmas baubles on the lake? This is what they look like at night.

DSC_0763.thumb.JPG.c4b64d91f32432d41a6fa6fa77303ed0.JPG

Even Wuze Town looks fantastic with all the Christmas lights.

DSC_0755.thumb.JPG.f9207a6ae781afaaf350301cb2b2e775.JPG

I will end this report with this amazing view.

DSC_0765.thumb.JPG.8a8e2a0941c3f32354019b7ce99dffd8.JPG

It is beautifully lit up at night.

Thanks for reading!

Great photos! The holiday decorations live up to what you'd expect from Phantasialand.

Thanks! Yes, exactly. All of the decorations look fantastic, just like the park itself. Really my only complaint about the event is their big night time show. I hope they can sort it out before the Holidays kick in, or at least learn from it for next year.

^Thanks! And LOL, I am sure you will love Chiapas. I mean, it even has a disco party during the ride and an airtime hill

And if you're going for their Wintertraum event, you can ride it all day long, because no one is riding Chiapas during winter
