New Wanda Parks in China.

Recommended Posts

Been doing a bit of digging this week and on my travels through the Chinese web have found that the Wanda Group (who recently announced that awesome looking GCI, Viper) have announced they have purchased a B&M flyer for their new Xishuangbanna International Resort. There are a few news articles about it on their official site below. I'm afraid they are in Chinese so google translate will need an outing.

I decided to dig a little deeper and uncovered this image on the Qiguang Group website under a link for the Xishuangbanna International Resort project.

The Qiguang Group have been responsible for the construction of several rides in China including last years Intamin fly rider at Victory Kingdom and the S&S 4D at China Dinosaur Park so its not a stretch to think they may be involved here (if only in ride construction). Look closely and you can see the Wanda logo in the background.

If this indeed the proper layout then it looks like a fairly small ride but with a fairly varied layout.

I'm not as dorky as many here, but it looks like perhaps a Superman Clone?

I'm certainly Dorky... Its pretty similar. The same up until after the turn through the pretzel then its a bit different. But not different enough that I expect it to offer a radically different experience.

I like this design, basically a combination of Manta and Superman.

It's been a long time since B&M made a flyer (It's 2014 now, and I think Manta at SWO in 2009 was the last one).

Sky Scrapper was built in 2011, not that long ago.

Good! Now this park will have two outstanding coasters: Viper and the B&M Flyer. It's been a long time since B&M made a flyer (It's 2014 now, and I think Manta at SWO in 2009 was the last one).

Just to clear up any confusion this is actually a different park. Viper is going to Wanda City in Nanchang. Wanda is currently building at least 3 new parks in China. The third one is planned for Harbin in the north.

They to be the third big park group along with Happy Valley and Fantawild. Certainly nice to see another company going for Western manufacturers though.

Viper and this coaster are in different provinces. The distence between is around 2,000 miles

From RCD, this coaster would probably be a Manta clone with butterfly theme.

That image looks really weird. It looks like there's a mid-course brake run that's only a few feet higher than the main brake...

Assuming the picture is accurate, it could be a Tatsu style brake run, with two separate sets or brakes.

Well, given that the last B&M flyer built in china apparently is pretty good, I'll be looking forward to this one.

To tell the truth, I would rather see Intamin, Gerstlauer, Mack, Zierer and S&S build something never been done before. B&M's creativity only focus on the layout instead of new elements.

RMC seems unlikely because the stupid Chinese amusement department added RMC to the black list due to the NTaG accident!! Is it possible that all coaster enthusiasts sue the Chinese amusement department with RMC?

^ And yet they still allow all those dangerous knockoffs like this one to be built....
