Gutterflower Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Chongqing Safari Park in China is adding a theme park section to it's current list of attractions. Below is some of the concept art for the park. The park is already confirmed to add one of the new Intamin 10 Inversion rides (like Italy and Brazil) and an as yet unknown second coaster. The art shows a Vekoma Stingray but who knows, It is concept art after all. The park is set to open in May this year. There's no actual photo of the construction yet but Google maps shows some land clearing https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Locajoy+Holiday%4029.293538,105.908278&ll=29.290357,105.907141&spn=0.005596,0.011689&t=h&z=18 theres a few more pics over at http://www.vhcoasters.com
cfc Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Hmm--they included one of those weird King Kong rides, too. Looks nice, but concept art usually does.
Voxelmatic Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Even if they only build the rides, let's all hope that the Stingray isn't nearly as messed up as the concept art shows... unless it's a knock off. That would be... extremely painful.
3Mutts Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Looks nice, glad to hear the 10 inversion coaster is a Intamin and NOT a half assed Chinese knockoff like Journey to the Stars is going to be. Also I'm pretty sure we will see the infamous Golden Horse Spinning Coaster in this park.
vacoaster09 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 If Golden Horse even tries to rip off the Vekoma Stingray... God be with the riders. I will not be one of them.
Randomman295 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 This actually looks really nice. I'm a bit surprised. Also, I'm glad to hear that more Stingrays are opening up. I heard the one in Giant Wheel Park was amazing.
A.J. Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I don't know - I would say that the Stingray would be a knock-off if this was one of those parks that looks like it just plopped the attractions down on the ground. This park looks like it will be at the caliber of World Joyland when it opens - letting Chinese companies like Golden Horse do the simpler stuff (like a mine train coaster) and the "real" manufacturers do the complicated stuff that the Chinese ones just don't want to spend money researching.
Gutterflower Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 Pictures of some of the new rides already up No sign of the Intamin but there are footers in for it. Source: http://www.vhcoasters.com
