This is very good news indeed - but sadly to far out for a tourist comming from overseas. Maybe someday on a TPR Tour...

My uneducated guess on re-making a broken-down shuttle-loop would be to remove the whole original trains and launch assembly may it be drop or flywheel and only keep the original track. Then put a new train onto it and equip it with a LSM/LIM launch system. I think Gerstelauer could do this but as said with a price.

No way. While LIM/LSM launches are fun, they just don't compare to the kick-start of GL's flywheel launch. Even though the acceleration was slower than the LIM/LSM coasters, it FELT faster. Really. GL was by far the best of the Schwarzkopf shuttles in the US (I'd vote Turbine just slightly higher because of the indoor/outdoor setting) and unlike other versions, they didn't slow down the train at all on the reverse trip. The back spike was the best part of the ride!

I've not been to Cliff's (that 800+ mile drive is a killer) but this will make it an absolute must-do park for me. This can't happen soon enough!

I totally agree that launch would be different but that way you could use tech they already have for their current coasters - re-creating the original launch mechanism could proof even more costly than using an LSM/LIM.

I was very excited to see this news! I enjoy Cliff's and have family that lives in Albuquerque, and having lived in Albuquerque myself when I was younger have some nostalgic ties to this park. I'm glad to see them building a great attraction and saving a classic, I'll definitely be heading up there when this opens. I think it's funny that we all think alike, I too was thinking a Euro-Fighter or something compact but punch-packing would be great for Cliff's, (especially since the park has been good about building a new attraction every season now for the last few years)- however a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop is icing on the cake.

You may have missed my point. I'm not saying that they COULDN'T replace the flywheel launch with a new system, I'm saying they SHOULDN'T. I think they should keep the original, classic ride experience if at all possible and as fun as a mag launch might be, it's just not a Schwarzkopf flywheel feel.

Looking at an overhead shot, Cliff's is really tiny, but is surrounded by many commercial businesses including several plazas, a Taco bell, a Pep boys, a self-storage and a few other things. Or, they could just removed their Galaxi coaster and use that back strip for G.L.

I think they are going to built a giant trench and put the entire launch/station section underneath the ground and only have half of the loop and spikes pop out of the ground. How awesome would that be?!?!?
