Noxegon Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) A few months ago I posted a photo TR of the the complete set of B&M. CardCraze Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Oh my god. You know, some people idolize lawyers, some doctors, some people idolize "important people" like Ghandi. You, however are my hero.
Skycoastin Steve Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Very impressive! I have my own modest goal of riding every operating wooden coaster just in the United States, and any international woodie credits will just be a bonus. As of right now I'm just about halfway there, and this just proves that it's possible!
BigDipper 80 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 That is incredibly cool! Congratulations! May I ask which one was your favorite?
beatle11 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Holy crap! Awesome post! Your signature says 1500+ coasters. I've got some catching up to do.
The Cheat Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Mexico is part of North American and they have at least one wooden coaster. EDIT: Oh crap you did hit it. Good job.
the ghost Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Holy hell. This is crazy! Especially considering you're only thirty. You must be some kind of roller coaster riding billionare to have all that time to ride coasters. Either way, thats crazy impressive. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you are the first person to ride every wooden coaster in North America. You should call guiness, cause your credit count may honestly be a world record. You are my hero!
PSiRockin Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Wow. I love the pictures, and it's very impressive. (Oh, and Ozark Wildcat doesn't have an *)
Noxegon Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 That is incredibly cool! Congratulations! May I ask which one was your favorite? Voyage, with second place tied between all of the more recent GCIs (anything from Thunderhead onwards). (Oh, and Ozark Wildcat doesn't have an *) Oops. Fixed, thanks.
ebl Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Excellent photos and very impressive track record. I enjoyed this very much; thanks for sharing it. A couple of notes: this has to be one of the strangest colors for a wooden coaster: Personally, I still like a classic white paint job the best. Eric
Pirouettes907 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 ^ It is strange looking, yes. I'm not a fan of how Dutch Wonderland turned the once-white Sky Princess (oops, I forgot it's taken on the uncreative, boring, uninspired, generic name of "Kingdom Coaster") into a garish blue and purple mess. I love these TRs. It's one thing to cover a park. It's another to take on a huge subject like all the world's B&Ms or all of North America's wooden coasters and cover them all because you've actually been on all of them. I hope I can say the same some day, too. Thanks for sharing!
capnkyle1 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 This is a personal goal of mine as well so congratulations from a like minded individual! How did you manage to get the Kiddie Coaster at Rye Playland though? I got denied when I asked to ride it.
BaMiTsPaT Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 This is an absolutely insane achievement! I haven't even been on 1/10 the coasters that you have, and your pictures are beautiful too!
KDcoasterMAN Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I gotta hand it to you, this is amazing... My wooden coaster count is a dismal 21...
Groteslurf Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Totally awesome. Probably a weird question, but did you ever had bad weather riding those coasters ? I didn't see any rain on all of your pictures.
cal1br3tto Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I'm impressed! Great pictures too! I'd love to accomplish something similar, although I'm not sure how hard I'll try. As of today, I still have 86 coasters to go (soon to be more).
Noxegon Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 This is a personal goal of mine as well so congratulations from a like minded individual! How did you manage to get the Kiddie Coaster at Rye Playland though? I got denied when I asked to ride it. Prior arrangement with park management; the group I was with were let ride it outside of regular operating hours. Probably a weird question, but did you ever had bad weather riding those coasters ? I didn't see any rain on all of your pictures. Oh yes; you can see some fairly rotten weather in some of those shots. In quite a few cases though I've been back to the park in better weather, and thus the really awful photos are confined to history. I can still feel the pain from riding Son of Beast in a torrential downpour; it was bad enough in good weather... From memory the only wood coaster I've had to make two trips for was Alabama Adventure, due to a dodgy sensor shutting down the ride on my first visit. I wish I could say the same for the various steel credits I've chased down...
redfoot12 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 This list makes me think we need more Intamin Pre-fabs in the good ole US. I'm very impressed by the way!
technfxrick Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 So how close are you to riding all the Woodies in the world? according to RCDB theres only 47 outside of North America.
let1gre Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 This is absolutely incredible. I remember stumbling upon your site several years ago and being in awe of the places you'd been and the sheer number of coasters you have ridden. Here's to many more!
chadster Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I bow to you sir. Bookmarked and will be used as a guide. Thanks for your hard work putting together your wooden adventures, it is much appreciated eye candy!
Noxegon Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 So how close are you to riding all the Woodies in the world? according to RCDB theres only 47 outside of North America. I'm pretty close actually. I have five operating that I know about: - One in Brazil - Two in India - One in Indonesia - One in Austria (Auto BergBahn -- this is a kids only ride, I won't fit in it) Of course you can add to that the various new rides under construction, and I guess Jeremy Reid's backyard coaster...
technfxrick Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Wow, and so with you off to India this weekend, does this mean that next year you are going to try to complete all the Woodies?
