This is probably common knowledge around here but this is the actual park the writers of the movie "Adventureland" were inspired by when writing their film. Correct me if I'm wrong but they at one time were seasonal employees and drew much of that movie from their own experiences at the real Adventureland.

I didn't know of this park before that movie.

As a former park employee myself (Geauga Lake) I loved the spot on accuracy of the movie Adventureland and how it portrayed the life of summer amusement park employees.

^That movie was actually inspired by the Adventureland in New York.

THANK YOU. Your opinion is correct.

Also, if the pic from last page is the Pony Trek model they're getting...man, that's adorable. Very "classic children's toy."

The park has posted to Facebook the section of the map that includes the new area.

Of note: The crazy couch appears to have been renamed "Shakin' Bacon" after previously advertised as "Pig Out"

That name is even cuter than the first one! Though I wonder if it will still look like a pig or a giant piece of bacon.

An Adventureland fan Instagram page has posted an image showing inverter being removed. I wonder what will take its place?

It is sad to see a dying breed of a ride go. But I am sure it is for the best.

Side note, I'm only assuming it is a dying breed being that Adventureland is the only place I've ever seen one in person.

I think Adventuredome in Las Vegas still has one (as well as a Chaos!). But yes, it is a dying breed. That said, I only thought it was a so-so flat ride anyway.
