BarryH
Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. The arrests took place at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, after Rose Dipietro, 20, Brian Guilfoil, 19, and three teens, all of Shirley, N.Y., a town on Long Island, were detained by Disney security for being unruly and possibly drunk, according to a sheriff's report. The group threatened the security officers, who called for help from sheriff's deputies. When one deputy tried to intercede, Guilfoil pushed the deputy while his companions rushed into the fray, the report states. Security guards and deputies rushed to the deputy's aid, and the deputy used his stun gun against a 17-year-old girl.. The five suspected brawlers were arrested for felony battery on a law enforcement officer and other related charges. Dipietro and Guilfoil were booked into Orange County Jail, where they were released Monday afternoon on $2,300 bail each. The teens -- girls 17 and 16 and a 14-year-old boy -- were taken to the county's juvenile detention facility.

Louise
Idiots. The Magic Kingdom of all places... At least it was late at night, not too many little kids around. I mean, that kind of shit isn't good for anybody to see when they're on holiday, but at least adults will just roll their eyes and walk on by as opposed to being really upset by it. LOL at the 17 year old girl getting stun-gunned.

MisterP
If they were drunk, they should done what i did in March 2006. Drink like 5 Coke & Jacks before going, then going to MK at 9 at night with Extra Magic Hours until two. Then ride Splash Mountain like 10 times in a row. By the 4th one, you're cussing out puppets. ** **Yes, I realize those puppets are in fact audio-animatronic characters from the classic, racist madcap live-action/cartoon Huey Long-inspired,Walt-Disney-approved, motion picture "The Song of the Racist Fox and Bear", starring Cedric the Entertainer's dad, Jimmy the "Back of the Bus" Entertainer, who starred as the charming Uncle ReamUs [/i]
jamesdillaman
^ Yeah.... Anyway, I don't see why stuff like this even makes news. If this happened outside a mall, you probably wouldn't ever hear about it. I don't like how the media seems to convey the idea that Disney is not part of the rest of the world. The people are the same, only the scenery is different... -James Dillaman
Alpenguy
That's a pretty tame incident compared to many I've heard of at various parks, let alone the full closure of a certain park I worked at on 4/20 about halfway through the day cause of just so much crap going down. stricklandCC
Every year, WDW opens their doors till late for graduating seniors("grad-night"(highschool)) and their guests...yes, 14 year-old freshmans. After working at MK for a while, I've watched my pop-corn cart completely tipped over,Ice Cream cart robbed for it's bank(till), the entire Christmas Shoppe LOOTED, busted windows and all. Fornication and oral services on Haunted Mansion, and monorail "surfing attempts". Mayhem seriously takes place at that park during this time a year. The media(nearly all owned by Disney) is only allowed to report these situation every so often...

Adrenaline_Rush
For being a passholder to disney parks here in Florida, we get a disney newsletter, the "Mickey Monitor" which revealed information on some of the renovations for the Haunted Mansion at Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Florida. I quote this directly from the "Mickey Monitor" passholder book. When The Haunted Mansion reopens this fall, you'll notice that strange things occured. "We increased the feeling of presence and movement between guests and ghosts," said Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Show Producer Kathy Rogers. Digital audio will give our old pal the Ghost Host the power to hop around in the stretch room, and dart back and forth on your "doom buggy." In the gallery, a lightning storm will cause the portraits to become more and more ghostly! Even disembodied medium Madame Leota's had a face lift---literally. Her crystal ball will float in mid air! In the attic, look for an extra-creepy bride with a string of grooms, all pictured before her. Each undergoes a change as the bouquet in her hand changes to an. . .well, we cant just give it all away! Quoted directly from the "Mickey Monitor"
Drop-Out
Basically, they are turning the mansion into the east coast version of Disneyland's mansion. Talk about originality! At least they will be refurbing it, it looked horrid when i was last at wdw.
ECZenith
The floating ball effect is really cool at DL so I'm glad the east coast version is getting it as well, it's a really baffling effect.
DerekRx
It may be the East Coast version of Disneylands, but I'm all for it. It's about time the ride got renovated, and I'm looking forward to the new attic scene. Open up already!
cfc
Florida's Mansion needed some serious love. These upgrades should put it over DL's again.
resonancej
In addition, the spider scene is gone and is replaced by some sort of "stair" scene. Oh, and it has new audio now which is wonderful considering half the time the audio didn't work on whichever doom buggy I was riding. Also according to the Mickey Monitor, Passholder access Sep 14 thru 16 from 9 to noon. I've heard the special effects at Disneyland are impressive so I'm glad to be getting them here finally.
