Optimus Prime better tell us to get out of way of fire trucks (because they're not going to the movies) or I will be severely disappointed.

^ Haha. I know right?

But seriously, even though its a few years away, I'm excited about this new addition as its been a long time since Universal has gotten something this big. I wonder if they will be rebuilding those soundstages from scratch.

2011? 2011? it is only 2008, why are they announcing a ride three years in advance? Boy this is going to be a LONG thread if we have three years to speculate what it is going to be.

All I can say is it better be something good...no, GREAT... if they are going to keep us in anticipation for three years! 2011?

By the time it is open I will have to do an update on the announcement in Shane's Amusement Attic

^I agree, Shane. A nice dark ride is just what the park needs, though, after the loss of E.T.

Everest was announced in 03 and opened in 06. This is probably a massive project in terms of scale and needs a long lead time.

Being a Universal fanboy, looks like I have to finally see Transformers. I really never wanted to see this movie. I will wait until my visit in 2011 to USH before watching it.

I know quite a lot about Donkeys!

I just became the happiest little Transformers nerd on the face of the planet! YAY! If they DARE screw this up, I will unleash 'The Thirteen' on their arses so they NEVER ruin an AMAZING MOVIE AGAIN! If Shia LeBiotch has his voice in it=failure!

I know this is a little vague but the announcement states:

"When Transformers opens in Universal Studios Singapore in 2010, it will be the first of its kind in the world. We may see a surge of Transformers mania"

I wouldn't be surprised if this ride DOES NOT use the same ride system Spiderman and Darkastle use. The announcement says HD 3D effects will be part of the ride but that doesn't mean Kuka providing some kind of ride system is out of the question...

With Kuka and Universal teaming up for the Potter ride in Orlando, I'd say maybe there's still some kind of chance it will use robocoaster technology. What an opportunity to incorporate robotic ride technology!

"First of its kind in the world" could be a reference to any number of things on the ride. Spiderman uses film (don't know what Darkastle uses), so simply using digital projection can be the first they are talking about...we will see in 2010.
