R.C. wrote:Great pictures Sam. It seems like you've been able to capture the whole experience pretty well so far (at least I think you have...).

Quassy seemed like another good little park on the trip. There seemed to be a lot to do. Didn't J's Amusements here in Northern California have a mad mouse like the one at Quassy? I'm pretty sure it did.

Yeah according to RCDB it did. I never got a chance to visit the park, but I drove by it a lot to go camping. Too bad the place closed down.

Day 2, Part 3

After our stop at Quassy, we headed over to Lake Compounce for some night time ERT on Boulder Dash. "Balder Dash, Jahan?" :P

They have a Spin Out!

Dark ride credit.

Image
Log flume looked fun, but never got around to it.

Image
This can't be good...

Image
No ferris wheel credit either.

Image
Retracked by GCI + night ride = new favorite woodie!

Image
Lol at the ACE plaque on the right.

Image
Free Pepsi products!

Image
Deeeniiied.

Right before our ERT on Boulder Dash after park closure, a worker asked us if we are with TPR because "they re now letting you guys on." There was pretty much a stampede of TPR people over to the Kiddie Coaster for the largest single takeover of the trip yet!

Image
Awesome!

Image
Tyler and me with Brandon and Jahan in line for the front before our first ride!

Image
About 8 of us (Me, Jahan, Tyler, Brandon, Bethany, Dave, and some others) all took over the Rotor immediately after dinner. Not such a good idea. ::lol::

Image
Space shot!

Image
Yes, that is all TPR people! And that is just the beginning. We filled up the line and then some with our group!

TPR Takeover! It's funny that they wouldn't let you guys on until the ERT was happening.

How was Boulder Dash? I'm sure it was awesome, but what was your opinion on it?

Lake Compounce looks like an awesome little park. I love seeing all of these parks that very few people really comment on. I hate when all they talk about is the biggest and best parks. Boulder Dash sure looks pretty :lover:

Lake Compounce was great! They may not have the biggest and best coasters, (except for Boulder Dash which is tied for my favorite with El Toro) but this was one of my favorite parks on the trip. It has a nice small park feel to it, and has one of the wildest chair swings I've been on.

I absolutely loved Lake Compounce! It was a surprise favorite of mine the entire trip. Boulder Dash ERT forever ruined me for regular theme park travel. I also got one of the biggest bruises I have ever had thanks to Boulder Dash, but it was well worth it! I am sad that I missed the TPR take-over of the kiddie credit. I didn't do so well with the kiddie credits, but I'll try harder next time. So, Lake Compounce is definitely worth the effort to visit if you ever have the chance.

Cool TR, seems like kiddie coasters are very popular during the TPR trips  .

Sam, great pics! I especially love that of the one and only Rotor!

Nice pic of the 'deliverance' flume! It was kinda creepy up there floating through the forest at dusk but that was a huge part of the charm.

Boulder Dash, what more can be said? Just amazing. A top 2 right up there with Ravine Flyer II that bull at SFGA :) So hard to rank them, I definitely want to try Boulder Dash during the day. Im' sure it'll be just as awesome.

Day 3, Part 1 - SFNE (again)

Image
Breakfast time!

American theming

Image
Will this be as painful as SFMM's?

Image
Before any pain could be endured, we broke it!

Image
Still broken. Maybe our Boomerang survival kits will come in handy! ;)

Image
Before Tony Hawk, there was Pandemonium.

Image
Here come the GP!

Image
Cyclone had just the right combination of pain and thrills to make it tolerable!

Image
I see you, old track.

Image
Compared to Cyclone, Thunderbolt was smooth as glass!

Image
Already done that!

I call this ride "Pain on a Stick"

Image
"How was the filming, Robb?"

Something's missing here.

Image
Yup, we're back for more.

This piece of Astroworld ride was amazing!

Best standard tube slides ever!

Yes, it almost beat out Maverick as #1!

Next up, RYE "Surprise Park" Playland.

I loved this park!

First, Superman was freaking great! I loved being able to ride it over and over again. Sucks that I had to ride this before the bad Superman at SFA.

Second, Jenn and I met the greatest bartender (Amy) at the waterpark. She was freaking awesome.

Third, the Sky Swatter (death on a stick) is evil! Totally evil. I've never been in so much pain. Ok, so it wouldn't have been so bad if the restraints weren't automatic. It keeps going down and crushing you. When I breathed in, it would send more room and push the restraint further!

Finally, the boomerang was actually fun. I don't remember it hurting. Only down side was when we broke it, we rocked back and forth for a minute like something snapped.

More great photos, Sam! SFNE is one of the parks that I really want to go to. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos from the "surprise park" they should be interesting...
