What did you think of POPnology, and the Sports Show?
I enjoyed going through the exhibit, and was kind of 'meh' with the Show.

Popnology was fun but I think they got one of those rigged Donkey Kong machines so that high score wouldn’t be beat.

^ I agree, because this arcade game is more of an exhibit, than a game in an actual arcade, right?
They want kids to try it, but not dominate it for some time, creating long queues, etc. If you went to
the Dragons Exhibit at the front of the fair, they had a VR set up so you were "riding a dragon" etc.

And at that time, a very short line (in our estimate) was going to "take nearly an hour" to get to us.....

:?r No thanks. I did get a pic or three of it. but we never tried it. Did any of you try it out?

^ You are most welcome! And just to let you know, I mailed them out,
before I read your post about not wearing them myself at The Fair, lol.
Thought you would enjoy a pair.

And the map/schedule you have, is the one for the Out At The Fair Day, that happened.
Which includes the "Decades of Drag" show, where you find Dueling Pianos in the Celebration Plaza Beer Tent.

I also checked with Vancouver Pride Society, and they have sold out of all of them!

Everybody, including The PNE, is hoping we all get to do this again, at next year's Fair! (o:

And from the "I Forget To Post this, Dept"....

I found this in Screamscape, and the LINK is to a true local news source, here in Vancouver.

Park News - (9/9/18) According to the local news the Playland / PNE is looking ahead to their future expansion plans and the possibility of adding a new coaster somewhere down the line. They say that they are looking into adding a new "custom" coaster over the next 3-5 years, though they did show off some stock footage of a Premier Rides Skyrocket II style launched coaster. While I wouldn't say this was an indicator that is what they are looking at just yet, it is a good indicator of the same size/scope of ride that they would seek to built there, something with a compact footprint.

P.S. Get - Rid - of Corkscrew. Replace it with (see below).
Regardless of what you said in the interview. (o;

"This is The End, my Friend..." :(

Although there was a lot of rain all morning, by the time I got to the park, most of it had stopped. And when I FINALLY reached my
GOAL of 65 rides on Coaster (matching my current age?), the rain had stopped...totally. It really didn't pick up again, till I was back
home a little while ago. Now, it's just icky and grey and drippy and windy and....wet. Eh, I made my Coaster Count so that was good.

:b :br

A good number of the flats were down, much more than were listed (3?) on the front board outside the gate. I was disappointed that
West Coast Wheel was one of them. I wanted some overhead shots. But no matter, the ride ops kept it together and ran things,
even when there was only one or a few people on the flat. Good for them! Coaster and AtmosFEAR are the only two rides at Playland,
that I know of, which require a minimum of 12 riders to run the ride. No problem with Coaster today! I was happily surprised how
fast the red train kept filling up, and not only myself doing repeat rides. It was a great way to get my final numbers and close The Park.

Hell's Gate is TOAST, as far as I can see. Hardly opened at - all during the entire season,
including the PNE itself. It needs to be replaced next Season. Truth.
